White rhinos are an endangered species due to their nearly extinct existence. Only two of the Northern white rhinos exist in Kenya while less nearly 20,000 of southern white rhinos are in the southern countries of Africa ( Huijbregts, 2019). This means that the northern white rhinos are so endangered than their counterparts in the south. Unfortunately, both the south and northern white rhinos are genetically distinct and cannot produce offsprings. At the same time, white rhinos are endangered due to the increased poaching of the rhino horns where one horn fetches and a lot of money .
Northern white rhinos are genetically different from their southern counterparts and cannot produce offsprings that would increase their overall numbers. Therefore, they risk having minimal increase in their numbers particularly since the remaining two rhinos are female ( Huijbregts, 2019). The economic instability of the African countries also increases the risk of poaching where people engage in illegal activities to earn a living.

The extinction of other creatures limits the number of studies and the quality of information that would be used in the study of others. For instance, if dinosaurs would have existed, it would be easy for scientists to better understand related animals ( Huijbregts, 2019). More breeding would have been done to increase the quality of wildlife particularly in fighting off diseases. In the end, the costs of taking care of handling animal diseases would reduce.
Majority of African countries are poor and may lack the basic economic capacity of taking care of the endangered species that require 24-hour surveillance. The high costs make preservation efforts so complicated. However, it is the ethical responsibility of mankind as required by God to take care of every animal ( Huijbregts, 2019). Using the utilitarian perspective, taking care of other creatures is morally right and beneficial since it creates a balance in the ecosystem and paves way for science to discover new things. Since the Northern white rhinos are more endangered than other species in the world, I would trade my life in the U.S. to devote myself in the preservation efforts.
