There is a direct link between human health and the environment. Lately, the world is facing environmental challenges, and there are significant concerns which are affecting human life. For instance, climate change, ozone layer depletion and water pollution are the main environmental issues facing Chinese community. These environmental issues are resulting in complex problems to human health to the extent that they can lead to death. All these issues are caused by human negligence in taking good care of the environment claiming they want development but the outcomes are adversely affecting the environment.

Climate change has surfaced for several numbers of years now. The leading causes of climate change includes high increase in global warming. It leads to temperatures going too high as a result of greenhouse gas emissions or burning fossil fuels. Naturally, leaves are air purifiers as they use carbon dioxide to emit oxygen ( Edmonds, 2012) . Lately, deforestation has increased as a result of high human population growth. Therefore nothing to help in reducing the amounts of the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere hence climate change occurrence.

Climate change leads to increase in extreme weather events, temperatures gets too high to an extent of endangering human health. The quality of air is degraded therefore leading to diseases affecting the breathing system of the humans. Also, diseases which are transmitted through food, water, and vectors increases at a high rate as a result of climate change ( Edmonds, 2012) . A lot need to be done to minimize the effect of climate change. Introducing ways to use renewable sources of energy instead of using fossil fuel is a helpful action which can be taken to reduce carbon gases emission. Also, reforestation can help to balance the climate by reducing amount of carbon gases in the atmosphere.

Ozone layer depletion is another major issue of concern on the environment in China. It is an invisible layer that protects the planet from harmful rays of the sun. There are gases which are released into the atmosphere, for example, bromide, chlorine which are found in CFC's that are significant contributors of ozone depletion. The ozone layer is beneficial to human health as it prevents dangerous ultraviolet radiation from reaching the earth (Huang, 2012) . When UV rays reach the planet, it causes non-melanoma skin cancer and also it contributes to development of cataracts. Relevant authorities are supposed to monitor industries and consumer products to ensure that their products do not have these particular pollutants to reduce the impact of ozone depletion.

Water pollution has been a big environmental concern in China. Lately, clean water is a rare resource to find in this particular city. Industries are releasing contaminated effluents into rivers, therefore infecting all the water sources (Huang, 2012). The toxic pollutants are a threat to human health. Also during floods, untreated surface runoff find its way to water sources resulting in water quality being impaired. Consumption of polluted water is a cause of many waterborne diseases like cholera, typhoid among others. Relevant authorities can follow up on the effluents that industries are releasing to stream and rivers. Pretreatment of this waste water should be done to ensure the content of the water is not harmful or a threat to human health.

There is constant interaction between human and environment. The relationship between humans and environment is that, for humans to have a quality life, environment has to be favorable to support it. A healthy environment means longer years of healthy living to humans and other species. The environment has significantly been degraded due to human activities. However, a lot can be done to ensure sustainable environment to support human life even to the future generations.
