The IRB will also work directly during the following stages of the research;

On the very onset of the study; their presence is necessary to ensure that as the investigation is beginning all the steps and measures have been put in place prior before the exercise starts.

During the research, if the procedure requires continuous survey and evaluation; this step is vital for them to be involved since it would enable them to check repeatedly if all the steps are followed as in the initial stage and as agreed.

When the research is going on, and there is the need for the research protocol to be altered; the IRB has to be involved since they have to evaluate if the next contract to be adopted will still be friendly to the subjects under study and that all considerations met.

If a serious and unexpected event occurs during the research; it would be critical to consult the IRB if something adverse happens. This step is because they are in the best position to offer professional advice on the same especially if all the stipulated considerations are in place for the study.

At the end of the project, IRB needs to be informed to close files for that particular study. This move acknowledges that the research has been done under all the set laws and guidelines and has, therefore, come to a completion.

It is also important to note that before the research commences, IRB has to evaluate any potentiality in any harm that might occur to the study subjects. This step, therefore, grants them the power to ask for proper amendments in studies involving human subjects and go ahead to commend the proposed research.
