All professionals are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism. They are normally guided by a document known as code of conduct which lays out all the standards of professional and ethical behaviour. Any violation of this code means that one has acted against the code and any violation of the code can lead to consequences.
From the scenario provided one of the supervisors violated the code of supervisory competence. This code requires the supervisor to offer services, teach and at the same time offer conduct research within the boundaries of their competence. The supervisor violated this code by asking the student to be guided by the teacher. Also, the supervisor did not act in a manner to show integrity. The student was waiting for her yet he did not turn up, she did not appear honest and truthful. She did not follow her obligation and contractual commitment to ensure she delivers high quality work by supervising and guiding the student. Additionally, the supervisor violated the code of responsibility (Board, 2014). She was expected to act in a responsible way towards the party that would be affected by her behaviour. It was expected for her to at least call the student and mention in advance that she would not make it for the meeting. Although she requested the student to send the assignment via mail, it was unethical for her to schedule a date and do not call in advance to reschedule. In return, the student was left stranded. Also, supervisory delegation is another code that was violated. It was inappropriate for the supervisor to involve the teacher without prior communication.
