Test anxiety is one of the hardships that students face. In response to this problem, schools have developed and implemented a variety of interventions. While some of the interventions are effective, others have no significant effect on the anxiety that students experience as they prepare for exams. The school in question has developed a program designed to alleviate the anxiety that its students experience. In an effort to evaluate the effectiveness of the program, a survey has been created. This survey seeks to obtain feedback from 14 teachers and parents whose students and children took part in the program. The survey was composed of 6 questions. These questions and an overview of the responses that the parents and the teachers issued are outlined below. Pie charts representing the results of the survey are also included.
Please indicate your response in the space provided after each question. For each question, answer with 1-5 (1=strongly disagree, 2=somewhat disagree, 3=neutral, 4=somewhat agree, 5=strongly agree)

Question 1: The child has witnessed significant declines in anxiety after participating in the program.
On this question, 10 of the participants indicated that they strongly agreed that the counseling program led to significant drops in the anxiety levels of the students. The other four said that they did not witness a marked improvement. They indicated 1 in response to this question.
Question 2: The program has had adverse effects on the child.
All of the participants gave the response of 1. This means that none of them felt that any child had suffered after participating in the counseling program. Their responses are a resounding endorsement of the program.
Question 3: The school should be relentless in its implementation of the program.
This question was intended to gauge the level of support that the counseling program enjoys among parents and teachers. 9 of them felt that the school should take all necessary steps to ensure that the program is fully implemented. The other 5, two teachers and three parents somewhat agreed that the program should be implemented at all costs. While not a resounding approval of the program, their responses still indicate that the program has been well received.
Question 4: The program has improved the test performance of the students.
7 of the participants wrote 5 in response to this question. 5 wrote 4 and the remaining 2 wrote 1. These results show that regarding the impact of the program on academic performance, the views of the parents and teachers are mixed. While some feel that the program has helped the students to perform better, others have seen no evidence that the program has boosted academic performance.
Question 5: The counseling program is sufficient and does not need to be supplemented with other initiatives.
Nearly all of the participants (12) stated 1. This means that most of the teachers and parents find counseling to be noble but insufficient. The other two answered 4, indicating some agreement with the assertion that the counseling program is so wildly effective that no additional interventions are needed.
Question 6: Please indicate any improvements you think could be made to the program.
This question required the parents and teachers to share their views on the changes that should be introduced to make the program more effective. Five of the participants felt that no changes were necessary. Essentially, they believe that the program is perfect as is. Two participants responded that the program should be expanded to include more students. Five other participants called for the program to extend beyond counseling for anxiety. They believed that the program could be beneficial to students who are grappling with such other hardships as poor academic performance. The remaining two participants shared that the counseling initiative should be implemented during the entire school year instead of just during the period when students are about to take exams.
