From the analysis of Alex Rose’s description of Florida Man and, in extension, Florida Woman, I would agree with his assessment that there is a “little bit of him in all of us.” Firstly, I would agree with his assessment from the fact that he seeks to describe a person living in a society that is somewhat free and wild. Personally, I tend to believe that just because I am living in Florida then that would serve as a reason to justify the possibility that I am exhibiting some of the characteristics that Alex seeks to describe. In my experience, living in Florida, I have been exposed to a wide array of situations that match the description that Alex is giving for both Florida Man and Woman. My personal assessment of the people living within Florida matches his view, especially on the fact that the Florida Man “has no respect for the law or himself” taking into account his actions.
It is a fact that indeed people in Florida tend to exhibit behaviors that reflects on the fact that indeed they are somewhat connected to the understanding of the Florida Man. In comparison to persons from other states, it is clear that the people living within Florida tend to exhibit characteristics that seek to show them as being wild. From that understanding, I tend to believe that my time in Florida has given me a sense of being free, which would most likely serve as a contributor towards projecting my behaviors to match those of the Florida Man. I also believe that my behaviors are much more likely to match those of the Florida Man taking into account the surrounding environment, which is somewhat conducive for persons to remain wild considering the free access to drugs.
