NCOs are responsible for ensuring soldiers' preparations and ensuring capability in all their operations in inspections, ensuring discipline and physical fitness. They ensure leadership competencies by ensuring that military leaders display the essential initiative for presuming the risk while exploiting the chances present under the disrupted and vague situations. The NCOs' main competencies help support the military to improve their knowledge, skills, and capabilities by enhancing a shared understanding to help the troops operate effectively. Its main operations include combating large operations, multi-domain functions, maintaining leadership competencies, communications, joint operations, procedures to lead troops, making military decisions, operative terms and symbols, and warfighting functions or combats (NCO-C3, 2019). Military leadership involves leaders influencing other soldiers to achieve their mission through motivation and guiding them. It ensures that the military leaders understand their soldiers' strengths, weaknesses, and abilities. The NCOs empower the military group with the appropriate skills to improve their FTX mission chances.

In the FTX mission, the CTP Powers have high hopes with the new PL towards the coming mission. They both agree that the PL should develop his technical skills to help improve the troops' readiness in the upcoming mission. The PL notices serious concerns with the soldiers during the recent FTX mission whereby instead of securing the wall perimeter, the soldiers walked out of the vehicles and lit cigarettes. Additionally, he understood that the leader books had not been updated accordingly and addressed the concerns to the responsible leaders. Lack of appropriate preparation by some squad leaders made the PL feel inadequately prepared for the mission.
The task was critical for the PL to prepare the squad for the nearing mission. Towards the approaching mission, the PL expressed great frustration with the squad leaders about ensuring the soldiers' whereabouts in which the leaders never followed. Also, there occurred an accident to the Bradleys during the training session in which he highly provoked. The intervention of the NCOs helped the PL understand how to handle the issues arising during the military preparations.
Interactions with the NCOs helped to understand the challenges facing the Soldiers' mission towards the upcoming mission. It is their responsibility to ensure squad leaders prepare their squad adequately to ensure the approaching mission is accomplished. They also ensured there are proper communication skills between the squad leaders. However, a lack of commitment and good leadership skills challenged the military preparation towards their FTX mission.
Lack of leadership traits in some squad leaders caused a downstream towards the preparation of the upcoming mission. The hot environment demotivated the troops' morale. Also, some leaders like SSG Lewis were not being committed to preparing the soldiers. He took a lot of alcohol and even losing his temper due to minor issues with the soldiers, a concern that the PL had noted. His alcoholic behavior resulted into had resulted even in damages to the medical equipment. Also, he assigned the junior soldiers to do the job he was supposed to do. Additionally, he had a poor relationship with PSG Loyola. The poor leadership skills and the poor association between the leaders hindered the army from adequately preparing for the upcoming mission.
