Subject: Application for Funds for a Charitable Trip to Haiti
Kindly refer to the above subject and to the several correspondences between yourself and the undersigned over the same. As you are well aware, the island nation of Haiti was recently ravaged by a massive hurricane that left a lot of devastation in its wake. Whereas emergency efforts have already been finalized, there is still a lot that needs to be done to help the poor communities, more so those living in urban slums.
The undersigned and nine other undergraduate students are committed to traveling to Haiti during our Summer holidays in August so as to assist in the clean-up process. The flooding created by the hurricane left a lot of debris scattered within urban slums and this continues to pose an active threat more so to children who play outdoors. It is towards this endeavor that we request pecuniary assistance from your organization.
