France, England, Germany, and the United States have shown significant signs of embracing a nationalistic approach that focuses on the promotion of their interests and culture as opposed to an international one. The situation is evident; for example; Trump’s administration has over the past two years focused on repealing the country’s immigration laws that control the number of immigrants in the US. In the US, the focus has majorly been to address social ills that include drug trafficking, family ties, and domestic jobs. In France, the National Assembly has since passed strict immigration legislation for immigrants on issues illegal entry, and tight application deadlines ( Dell'Olio, 2017) . The trend is gradually picking up in several European countries with a focus on addressing national social issues and giving locals priority on topics such as jobs.

Brexit will have both short term and long term economic effect on Britain and the broader European Union. However, its immediate and significant economic impact entail economic instability that will have a rebounding micro-economic effect due to Britain’s openness. On investment, Hobolt, (2016) argued that Brexit will reduce business for investors by approximately 1.5 percent. At the same time, Britain’s international trade will experience a slight slump with increased trades headed to the European Union.
