Interest groups comprise of a collection of people with common interests. It comprises of an association of people and organizations. Interest groups have common desires. There are diverse categories of interest groups. In developing and authoritarian societies, the interest groups are restricted.
The first interest group that I would join is the Equal opportunity, interest groups. This category plays an essential role in promoting the economic rights of the disadvantaged people in the community. I would join the interest group to offer assistance to vulnerable children. Children need essential commodities such as quality in healthcare, good diets, and safe neighborhoods to reach their full potential (Skilling & Griffiths, 2019) . However, many children do not reach their optimum potential due to various forms of vulnerabilities. Joining the interest groups requires demonstrating the ability and capability to champion children's programs and policies.

The second category of an interest group that I would be interested in joining after finishing college is Professional interest groups. The interest group plays an essential role in presenting the economic interests of the members. Professionals such as lawyers, engineers, and doctors have joined professional interest groups to champion their economic rights (Skilling & Griffiths, 2019) . Joining professional interest groups requires an individual to possess ideal academic qualifications. People joining professional interest need to demonstrate integrity and transparency in service.
The third category of an interest group that I would be interested in joining is the single-issue interest groups. The interest group mainly tends to focus on advocacy around one defining issue. The group energy is dedicated to one specified defining issue. The membership is devoted and committed to personal experiences. There are several arising single-interest groups in the United States, such as MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). The organization was formed by a mother whose daughter was a victim of drunk driving. Joining the single interest groups requires one to understand the issue in question while offering critical solutions comprehensively.
