Circadian rhythms refer to behavioral, mental, and physical changes that follow on a regular daily pattern. These changes mainly respond to darkness and light within an organism's environment. For example, being awake during the day and sleeping during the night represents a circadian rhythm ( Pastorino & Doyle-Portillo, 2018) . They are mainly found in microbes, plants, animals, and living things. The biological clock regulates and produces circadian rhythms and is coordinated by a master clock found within the brain ( James, Honn, Gaddameedhi, & Van Dongen, 2017) . Within living things, circadian rhythms are produced by natural factors. Circadian rhythms are powerful and affect how the body functions and reacts. They mainly influence digestion, hormone release, body temperature, eating habits, and sleep-wake patterns.

Circadian rhythms also determine an individual's work plan and program. All human beings have their energy levels and perception regulated by the circadian rhythms. Businesses must thus understand the significance of the circadian rhythms to tap into employees' potential and ideal work time. Tapping into the employee's perfect work schedule when he or she has the energy levels at the best level improves on their performance, productivity, and creativity ( Hatfield, Nicoll & Kraemer, 2016) . It is thus essential for the business industry to understand the circadian rhythms to get the best out of employees.

The common perception that employees can be at their most potential level all the time is false. While some may have their best work schedules during the morning hours, others may have their best hours in the afternoon. At their peak, especially in the morning, employees are alert and energetic. It does not last long and the energy or alert levels drop in the afternoon, reaching a low in the late afternoon. Although it may be blamed on lunch hour, the reality of the change is the circadian rhythm impact. Thus the business industry needs to understand the role of circadian rhythms in employees to get them at their best.
