Communication is one of the aspects that has been significantly changed and affected by technology. In the past communication was affected by distance and it took days to pass on information. Currently, technology continues to offer advanced ways that counter the previous barriers to communication. Technology has impacted on all the aspects of communication including odes of delivery, speed, and platforms of communication. Technology has had both positive and negative impacts on communication.
Technology has positively impacted communication in many ways. Firstly, technology has increased the platforms for communication. There are numerous social networking platforms for communication such as Twitter and Facebook used all over the world. Secondly, technology has also enabled easy access to a wide range of information. There is information online about every aspect of life, and with the large population online it is easier to pass out information to millions of people at the click of a button. Thirdly, technology as brought about wireless communication which enables high-speed communication. Information that would take days or months to pass on now takes second regardless of how far apart people are. Also, technology has improved accessibility to communication channels through the innovation of mobile handset that is affordable. A more significant population of the world owns mobile phones (Kaul, 2012).

Technology has also had some negative impact on communication. Technological means of communication have advanced informal communication affecting professionalism. Emails and texting have affected the formats and presentations on formal communications. Technology has also reduced relations building as it has detached people for direct communications. Face to face communication and quality on phone conversation are dying out with increased preference for texting (Leonard, 2018). In conclusion, technological has intensively impacted communication and is continuing to do so by ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in communication.
