The reason for music evolution has been facilitated by the internet, which has resulted in a high amount media that is moving online on a daily basis (Warner, 2017).

On the other hand, others claim that technology is not the only thing that has shaped the music industry. They argue that the change from Vinly to streaming shaped the music industry. The transformation from Vinyl, to tape, which slowly changed into compact discs and later to streaming services that made significant changes to the music industry. Embracing streaming services resulted in decrease in overall sales of the music because it created a fractured and porous musical landscape (Warner, 2017).

It is evident that technological advances are the major factor to the music revolution over the past years. Everything is now digital and this has led to increased rate of digital music distribution, which has enormously affected the economics of the music industry.
