The project began with a deep understanding of how companies operate and expand their business operations onto the global scale. Applying this knowledge to throughout the project has enabled me to complete it without much challenges. Reflecting upon the strides McDonald`s has taken over the years, I have understood the power of leadership in business management. More specifically, researching about McDonald`s and other global companies has demonstrated how different leadership approaches can impact business growth.
Research on business management and globalization has been the pinnacle of completing the project. Combined with coursework theories learned in the classroom, I have gained substantial knowledge to undertake more projects of similar magnitudes. The project has demonstrated the need to be well equipped with research skills and business knowledge to undertake a massive project. However, I faced many obstacles while gathering information about HR strategies, McDonald`s business operations, and leadership approaches. For instance, much of the information collected only revolved around McDonald`s food stores within the U.S. It was challenging to find information on culture and diversity among different McDonald`s franchises outside of the U.S. Despite experiencing such setback, I managed to compile critical information that informed the project.

Moreover, the company was not willing to release some of their legal framework procedures and policies that were essential to the project. If available, the project would have incorporated more data for better strategy formulation and implementation. Another challenge was conflicting information on McDonald`s organizational structure. Different sources provided differing information on the company`s structure and business model. Despite these disparities, I managed to undertake an in-depth analysis of the company and understand its mode of operation. Regardless of all these challenges, I learned a lot about McDonald`s and its journey in this competitive business environment. My ability to comprehend different research elements and combine them to create a complete project capstone has been my greatest strength in this essay. I appreciate the opportunity this coursework has provided by exposing us to how businesses operate in the real-world.
Moving forward, I will use the experience and knowledge I got from this project to demonstrate effective leadership skills in promoting employee engagement, diversity, and well-being. Organizations continue to formulate and implement more HR strategies to boost their competitive edge. Looking at McDonald`s and other similar global companies, I have seen how human resource management practices can separate leaders from the rest. As such, I strive to acquire more leadership and HR management skills to help improve the company I will work for in the future.
