The black students have carried the burden of discrimination from most sectors of the economy. Racism has not been spared in the academic sector as well. Various researchers have discussed the various ways by which the blacks have continually borne the brunt of discrimination and victimization in the American academic sector.

African American children have always trailed their white counterparts in the education field in America. As Bartz & Kritsonis (2019) states in their research on the aspect of white power racism in education in America, the black students are victims of rampant suspensions from school even on the slightest of mistakes while the teachers are more tolerant to the white students. The study finds that just the abolition of separate schools for blacks and white students did not add many benefits to the black students after all. The white power through non-public schools have continually played in America, and the black students have to struggle against all the odds to make it education (Bartz & Kritsonis, 2019). Racism is the order of the day in the American education system, and society needs to do more to overturn the trend.

The system of free education in California fell short of its promises. According to s the unfair treatment of the black students in schools across the country, and not just California had become prominent. The Education for Empire, as advanced by Stratton (2016), developed long unequal paths for fair citizenship between whites and blacks. This case prompted the need to review the education process that would be fair for both the black students and their white counterparts.

Blaisdell (2016) examines the pertinent racial segregation that has been part of the American education system for a long time now. The research examines the ethnographic and autoethnographic framework that has allowed the whites to control all spheres of learning, leaving very little or no chance for the black students. According to Blaisdell (2016), racial inequity has remained a thorn in the flesh for the non-public schools. The teaching standards and the misunderstanding of the different cultural aspects are a challenge that schools seek to handle every day.

While the quest for racial justice has been advanced for a long time, there has never been a more urgent need for the same to be implanted in the education field. Affirmative action seeks to ensure that the public and private schools open up spaces and avenues for the black children in such a way that they access the same quality f learning materials as their white counterparts ( Ezorsky, 2018). The private schools in America have failed to recognize the essence of racial equality, thus giving whites an upper hand concerning better education. The blacks being descendants of slavery have carried the brunt of racial segregation in the education field with several unfair treatments targeting them ( Ezorsky, 2018).

The struggle for education segregation in America was led by Delaware. The historical, cultural, and socioeconomic factors that have left the black learners at the mercy of the whites. According to Davis (2017), education disparity against black students is influenced by the politics of race. The black students have to deal with the political influences that carry the core of their being. Teachers, students, and other stakeholders victimize black students not because of their ability but by their race (Davis, 2017). The non-public schools have taken sides with segregated buildings and classrooms for both the black students and their white counterparts.

Challenges or Barriers in the Selection of the Sources

Getting the sources proved quite challenging. Most sources online discuss the racial failures of public schools and not private ones. The rest of the sources are outdated and are no longer relevant to the current challenges. I also found it hard to get sources and research that focuses on black races and not others as well.

For the book sources, the updated editions needed payment to access. This was a huge challenge being that this was short research. I had to rely on Google books for that matter that left out some pages blank.
