An interviewee tends to be sensitive to the interviewer's reactions. With this knowledge, I guided the interviewing process along the most productive ways to gain all the necessary information concerning the interviewee. Repeating some phrases that the interviewee expressed helped her to expand on the details needed on the relevant issue. The small inflections in my voice acted as a way of encouraging the interviewee. Moreover, the interviewee was accorded enough time during the interviewing process to formulate her answers, which helped obtain important bits of information, which would otherwise be withheld. Therefore, the interview was a success in extracting as much information as possible concerning the interviewee's qualifications.

The question of why the interviewee wanted to apply for the particular job was effective in getting the information necessary to make conclusions whether if hired, she could deliver well. Through answering the question, one could understand that the goals of the interviewee aligned with those of the company, which is a requirement for maximum productivity. It also helped me understand that the interviewee had a great experience in a variety of areas, such as recruitment. The interviewee exhibited her expertise, willingness to learn, and her team-player characteristic, which are necessary for this position. Moreover, the willingness of the interviewee to learn from others was also brought forth by this question.

In future interviews, I will not over-rely on the programed questioning technique, which tends to welcome stereotyped answers. The ideal interview will have questions that are designed for the specific respondent and situation to avoid repeating answers already recorded on people's resume. More so, I will discreetly indicate the time for questions to avoid terminating the interviewee too abruptly to ensure they include all the relevant information which can otherwise be withheld.
