The current work demands posses many challenges to many employees, even though some career offers flexible work schedules, other careers are demanding, thus leading to a significant reduction of free time. With the ever-increasing need to fulfill our basic needs, many people engage in tight work schedules. More and more people are working more than 50 hours per week to maintain a luxurious lifestyle. Employees feel overwhelmed by the demands of work, employees experiencing health problems (Fontinha, Easton & Van Laar, 2019). High levels of stress due to work consistently leads to anxiety, depression, which affects family relations. Besides, with advanced technology, there is no way people can have boundaries between work and home.

Work has invaded our personal lives, many people cannot have a balanced work-life because they are constantly on the phone with clients, their supervisors, or even work colleagues while at home (Morris, 2019). Employees have the desire to have a successful career while others overwork for fear of losing their jobs. Employees with children experience difficulties in having a balanced work life. It can be difficult for most employees to enjoy a work-life balance because of several life demands (Mathew et al., 2017). It nearly impossible to have the desired work-life balance, however, we can strive to attain a reasonable level of balance; all we need is to adopt a healthy attitude toward life. Employees need to value their life more than gaining wealth (Mathew et al., 2017). Attaining a reasonable work-life balance does not require a complete overhaul of our daily routine; all we need to do is make simple adjustments to our day to day activities. It is about engaging in daily exercises and being resilient to stress.

Engaging in activities that help us burn energy has a huge impact on our lives. Exercising can lift our moods, increase energy, and enables our body and mind to relax. Activities s that require movement like walking, running, dancing is an important part of gaining a reasonable work-life balance because they reduce stress. Engaging in these activities daily can reduce the amount of stress. Besides, we need to recognize the triggers of stress, when feeling overwhelmed by work, it is important to take a break and avoid any stressful situation. One can take a stroll outside the office. Simple physical movements can help in regaining the balance needed. A healthy work-life balance involves not only exercising but striking a balance between work and personal life. A reasonable work-life balance entails proper planning which helps in coping with daily pressures of life.

Through planning, one can have a reasonable schedule that can enable us to set some time to relax and also spend adequate time with our families. Employee s needs to be aware that some things in life can be beyond our control, the only way of overcoming these obstacles is by planning for things that are within our control (Fontinha, Easton & Van Laar, 2019). Maximizing our time to earn more is not good for our health. Having a balanced life means striking a good balance without causing damage to our health. Employees should not risk their entire life in favor of their profession, they risk toppling the entire work-life balance.
