One way a company can gain a competitive advantage over others during recruitment is through offering an excellent candidate experience. Candidates faced with a dilemma of choosing two hiring firms will automatically decide to get hired by a company that provides a seamless, speedy, and well communicated hiring process. Moreover, the candidate will view the recruitment process as an indicator of how the firm will treat them once employed. The other way companies can gain a competitive advantage is by creating and displaying an attractive culture (Greg, Kenneth and Publisher, 2014). Companies have the potential to nurture a work environment that can attract candidates. Moreover, the values that a company uphold can also attract candidates and make them stick to a firm. Technology has impacted positively on the job recruiting process, and has consequently sped up the hiring process, improved the efficiency and quality of the process.

Good employees are responsible, disciplined, dependable, and cheerful, and therefore, Mary is more qualified for the job than Alice. Alice is unreliable since she cannot work on commission and does not work weekends. Meanwhile, Mary's work schedule is very flexible, and she is congenial. Reliability is a trait that employees should possess at an early age to overcome fallbacks like lack of experience. Characteristics like integrity are vital, and Alice compromises integrity standards by becoming a little obstinate ( Greg, Kenneth and Publisher, 2014). And her behavior can create a disturbing public image and injure the reputation of the firm. Mary's ability to work efficiently with people demonstrates proper communication skills, which is another crucial ingredient for job qualification. Many years of experience does not guarantee the chances of placement in a job hiring process. Employers can nurture fresh candidates and help them gain experience as well.
