Individuals working close with their subordinates create professional development plans. They do so to assist them to identify the required resources and skills that the learners would require in order to realize career goals as well as fulfill overall educational requirements (Duke Human Resources, 2018) . In the educational setting, a personal development plan facilitates in developing and enhancing methods of teaching and curriculum to ensure that the academic requirements of all the students are addressed effectively.

Professional development among educators commence once new members join a team to ensure that the teachers have thorough understanding of the diverse learning requirements of the students. Additionally, all educators are required to have an existing professional development plan. The planning process does not only take place after identifying the staff members requiring improvement (Duke Human Resources, 2018) . The plans need reviewing on a regular basis during the entire year, while an interim review assessment should occur between supervisors and educators once before an annual performance review ends.

In the educational setting, a professional development plan serves as part of the course requirement. It facilitates in exhibiting the knowledge and instructional skills required to meet student needs. It ensures that educators convey high expectations among all learners and afford them the opportunity and access to realize their educational goals at high levels. It also fosters meaningful collaboration with colleagues on instruction, curriculum, and assessment (Pezaro, 2018) . Furthermore, it makes it possible to assess and respond to the diverse requirements of all the students while utilizing equitable practices that foster a culture of accountability and inclusivity in the educational environment.

With a professional development plan, the educators are able to ensure that learners realize success with the instructional initiatives developed. The students are able to develop learning habits, which they can apply to new situations while at the same time engaging in productive and rigorous interaction and thinking. In addition, the students gain clarity concerning standards they are anticipated to meet in line with being able to set goals, monitor their individual learning, and become self-aware. In addition, students are able to realize support and opportunities for attaining academic success, become efficient as life-long learners, and graduate from high school or college while ready to pursue their careers (Duke Human Resources, 2018) . With personal development plans, the educators are able to realize things, such as boosting instruction quality, improve learning of students, and believe in the capability of every student.

Overview of Reading

The education process does not end, while a professional development plan plays a critical role in guiding ways of standing out in learning. Education does not halt once individuals earn their degrees or commence their career. By proceeding with education, individuals driven by the thought of advancing their careers keep on improving their skills to allow them to boost proficiency in their careers. In the educational environment, it is crucial for administrators to emphasize on encouraging educators to seek professional advancement to improve the learning outcomes of their learners as well as emerge effective as well as satisfied in the diverse aspects of their career (Queens University, 2018) . With a professional development plan, it can serve as a guide for boosting learning as well as incorporating it to learning in various ways.

A professional development plan ensures that students realize better learning outcomes. Curriculum standards, school guidelines, and educational technology are changing on a regular basis, posing challenges for educators to cope with the trends and deploy bets practices in their area of profession. Professional development makes it possible to transform educators in such a manner that they become better by providing them with the opportunity of reading relevant as well as tailored course materials that can meet the requirements of today’s students. When educators have well-developed professional development plans, they have the ability of improving the achievement of students considerably (Queens University, 2018) . For instance, National Board Certification serves as one of the major ways in which educators can realize professional development while at the same time allowing them to remain updated on the recent educational standards that foster optimal performance among students.

Professional development plans provide educators with improved ways of teaching. When teachers realize new teaching approaches via professional development, they gain the ability of returning to their classrooms and instituting changes to their curricular and lecture styles, which meet the needs of the students. Nonetheless, instituting these changes poses challenges since implementing them requires gradually alterations (Queens University, 2018) . Professional teacher development makes it possible for educators to become more efficient in their course evaluations and presentations, since they gain exposure to new evaluation styles, delivery methods, and approaches of keeping records.

Educators establish better planning and organization skills with the help of professional development plans. In addition to the numerous hours that teachers spend while presenting in classroom environments, educators spend a considerable amount of tie in curriculum development, student evaluations, as well as other kinds of paperwork (Queens University, 2018) . Professional development plans assist teachers in planning their time better and remaining organized. This plays a critical role in making sure that educators become more efficient while at the same time giving them additional time to emphasize on the students as opposed to paperwork.

Professional development plans assist educators in gaining knowledge and insight concerning the industry. Students anticipate their educators to serve as experts of subject matters in the areas that they teach. This is an indication that educators need to have the ability of answering the different questions their students ask. Professional development plans allow teachers to boost their knowledge in diverse subject areas (Queens University, 2018) . With increased professional development, teachers acquire more knowledge and industry concerning the industry, which they can share with their students.

Additionally, teachers have the desire for continuing their education to remain relevant in the marketplace, while a professional development plan would serve as the ideal way of allowing them to realize that. Educators have higher chances of being overburdened by the challenges attributed to teaching. Professional development offers educators openings for going past their routine. They become students rather than serving as the teachers. This allows them to remain engaged since they feel that they are acquiring professional assistance to allow them to become better at their jobs. In fact, professional development has the ability of nurturing teachers’ talents, especially in the event of those wishing to acquire educational leadership positions (Queens University, 2018) . Thus, teachers need to learn from other expert leaders to allow them to become effective in their future leadership positions.

Philosophy and Dispositions

The philosophy targeted by the professional development is that all students need to learn. In the learning environment, various issues surround issues related to capacity, achievement labeling, and the probable learning capacity limitations. In this case, it is crucial to focus on the legacy of such issues for learners looking for opportunities to advance their education. When it comes to ability, it labels attempts for explaining the distinctions that prevail in learning as well as attainment through emphasizing on a fixed intellectual endowment description. An individual perceived as having low ability presently, is regarded as having increased limited potential for learning unlike the case of those regarded as more capable. Additionally, the anticipation is that distinctions will keep prevailing in line with becoming reflected in comparable differences in future academic realizations (Taylor, 2018) . This is an indication that future outcomes are perceived as fixed, predictable, as well as inevitable depending on the state of the present.

The problem attributed to labelling individuals in this manner is clear. What becomes apparent revolves around the assumption that every child usually has a pre-programmed learning capability. In this vein, it is essential to note that individuals who while aged 11 years had their capacity marked, judged, and labelled, while preparing to select school. This can reveal a predestined future characterized by limited aspiration and opportunity paucity. Many individuals have come across such children, who, due to their prior labelling encounters, usually because of selection exercise, presently portray a limited capability mindset. This kind of an attitude can lead to damaging repercussions to succeeding in universities (Taylor, 2018) . In addition, the kids believing in their fixed ability and incapable of changing will not see sense in applying hard work and effort to study in order to realize improvements.

In the event of university educators, it is their role to focus on debunking the myth, which argues that intelligence, is fixed. By doing so, they should focus on providing substitute pedagogy of hope to the students who have grown knowing that it is not possible for things to become better. The substitute strategy should revolve around the idea that success does not revolve around a predetermined extent of ability, but rather depends on the educators and learners anticipating that it is possible to transform, grow, and boost learning ability via external intervention. This kind of an approach has the ability of motivating students considerable, since it would allow them to note the advantages that would emerge by deploying more efforts to their learning. In the event that the effort that the student applies in learning is evident, the educators at university should exercise more commitment to all learners’ educability while offering formative activities that back engagement of the learners. Supported and motivated engagement with opportunities for learning would lead to improved learning, while allowing students to develop an optimistic as opposed to a limited learning ability (Taylor, 2018) . This would facilitate in increasing retention rates, increase achievement levels, and increase chances of accessing graduate employment.

Propositions

Concerning the philosophy that all students need to learn, certain vital propositions are ideal to consider. For instance, assessing the learning of the students should serve as the major area of emphasis. A large number of educators do not emphasize on assessing the learning potential of their students. Many of the educators usually enter classes, present their students with a speech, and then leave. They return the following day to offer a test. Nonetheless, grades might impact the real learning capabilities of the students. Undertaking assessments should be performed in the right manner. It is not possible to follow the real abilities of a student with a test, while cheating has gained tremendous popularity in learning institutions. An alternative means of assessing the students entails having more interactions with the learners. Educators need to consider establishing talks while inviting the stents to participate. In this manner, it would be able to identify the major strengths and weaknesses of the students, hence determine the areas that learners need to address (Phillips, 2017) . These areas might comprise of fear, lack of confidence, language deficiency, and anxiety among other issues.

A reversed learning model would also assist the educators deal with the different abilities of the students in a learning environment. This approach is new, while it might assist in boosting the learning outcomes of students. It entails changing roles. The student usually serves as the educator and vice versa. Moreover, it might serve as a good idea offering individuals the position of the ‘evil teacher.” Punishing the learners on a daily basis with tests does not lead them to develop respect to a teacher, while they do not apply more efforts to study. Even in case they do, they just learn the information via mechanical means, which has devastating effects during the long run (Phillips, 2017) . In this case, it is crucial to consider mixing things in class while regarding the students as friends. When the students feel comfortable when their educator is present, their chances of remaining engaged while in the classroom increase.

Furthermore, teaching outside the classroom offers an opportunity for making sure that each student gains the ability to learn. Unconventional teaching is perceived as the most effective means of boosting student learning. Unlike coercing learners to remain in class for around 5-8 hours daily, allowing them to relax in the park would contribute to their learning endeavors. In case the weather is pleasant, it would be worthwhile to take the students to a place the students can interact with their teacher more freely. When learners do not feel constrained, their chances of opening up and speaking their minds increase. Open environments, such as parks allow the students to feel a sense of freedom. This serves as an approach that can alter the manner in which learners perceive learning. Overall, it is essential to realize that even while numerous approaches prevail that require learners to study harder. The major area to focus on is to permit freedom of speech. Teachers should refrain from imposing pressure on the students, but rather utilize approaches that convey ease and comfort. Educators should put themselves in the shoes of their students while at the same time finding ways in which they can perceive the educators as their friends rather than their superiors (Phillips, 2017) . With time, many things would change, particularly their attitudes toward the teacher, which would facilitate in improving their abilities in class.

Strengths and Weaknesses

When developing the professional development plan, certain strengths prevail. The major strength is responding to changing environment in a progressive and prompt manner. At a personal level, friends and family have observed various attributes, although the professional level reveals other attributes. Being closely affiliated with the education sector, certain forces have influenced my work, including the quality of teaching offered and the average time of dealing with the students. As an educator, I have on a constant basis made sure that the students are well incorporated in the classroom setting, which has played an essential role in terms of improving their performance in the classroom setting. Certain other things have played a critical role in terms of enhancing my professional skills. For instance, I respond quickly to issues facing the students to make sure that they do not left behind in any class sitting. I have taken my time to make sure that students reach the set course requirements by spending more time with low performers to make sure they are at part with the others. Providing brainstorming sessions has served as one of the major forces that have allowed students to participate actively in class.

Furthermore, emphasizing on quality of education offered serves as a strength, which has allowed me to gain tremendous recognition in my area of teaching. I am a reputed educator when it comes making various action plans for advisors within the institution. Even while the situation have been challenging, I have been able to deal with school boards on ways of improving the performance of the learning institution. I have also advised them on the ideal ways ensuring that even low performing students receive recognition within the institution, an initiative that has played a critical role in terms of boosting their overall performance in the institution. Additionally, I consider myself as a person who has the ability of responding to situations in a rapid manner while checking records to make sure that everything runs normally, particularly when dealing with non-performing students. I emphasize on organizing informal meetings whereby I interact with the students for extended periods. I usually work with them with the goal of making sure that they improve their performance by guiding them on ways they can overcome their weaknesses. In doing so, I have been able to ensure that the students realize improved performance, which have contributed to overall increased productivity in my classes. Negotiation skills also serve as among my major strengths. I usually work with difficult students all the time, which leaves me with tremendous workload. However, I ensure to balance my time efficiently to make sure that they are satisfied with their queries, which in turn leads to their improved productivity in the classroom environment.

Moreover, I make sure to speak with the management of the school to ensure that ideal accommodations are imposed to ensure that all students are able to meet their learning needs in an efficient manner. By doing so, I have managed to foster effective interactions among students, both high performers and low performers, which has contributed to overall increased performance of my class. I mostly do this to with the goal of making sure that each students gets sufficient attention in line with ensuring that each learner has the ability to learn, rather than emphasizing on the high performing ones. This way, I have been able to organize my class in such a manner that each person contributes, which makes them feel recognized for the efforts they deploy. As such, I have been in a position for making my classes among the best performing in the institution. I also consider being organized as strength that allows me to cope with the various challenges that the teaching environment presents. Before commencing any day’s work, I ensure to group my students into different groups in order to make sure that all the students realize benefits from the others. For instance, I make sure that low performers work with high performers to ensure that they derive inspiration for applying more effort to improve their learning. Additionally, the students are able to benefit from the high performers, especially in the case of areas where they are weak. I also advice my students on the need for being organized most of the time to allow them realize success in the different learning endeavors that they undertake. By advising my students on how to remain organized by serving as an example, most of them have managed to follow my example, allowing them to become successful in their learning endeavors. With these kinds of strengths, I have managed to transform my classrooms to ones characterized by high achievers. I have also received various rewards mostly because my students are among the major performers in the institution where I teach. Thus, leveraging on strengths serves as a major area that can lead individuals to succeed in their diverse undertakings.

By contrast, despite my various strengths, I also have certain weaknesses, which have hindered me from realizing my full potential in the teaching environment. For instance, I am a very judgmental person. I normally judge various students based on their levels of performance and personality. I believe that it is my responsibility to ensure that all the students achieve their optimal potential. In this case, I usually target the students who fail to heed to my advice or those who appear not interested in taking additional duties in the classroom setting. As such, I end up blaming such individuals for the poor performance, which has distanced me from some of my students. Thus, I believe that refraining from being judgmental and focusing on ways of improving their personalities and attributes would play a critical role in allowing them to make meaningful in the classroom setting.

Plan for Improvement

To improve my development plan, I will emphasize on both the short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals, which will take place for 1 years. During the short-term plan, I will look for an educational position that will allow me to rise to leadership positions. My current educational background will provide me with the opportunity for gaining acceptance with a reputable institution. I anticipate starting as a junior in the organization, while I will utilize all the available openings to boost my skills in the new organization and prepare myself for more responsibilities in higher ranks. While in this level, I will emphasize on attending diverse leadership trainings that will equip me with various leadership skills, which will benefit me as well as assist the organization as well. These will allow me to undertake my duties within the organization in an effective manner. The new role will play a critical role in allowing me to boost y communication and verbal skills, which will provide me with the ability of interacting with numerous individuals, including colleagues and students. For this role, it will also require me to have sufficient relationship skills and capacity for making decisions that can allow the organization to progress and become more productive. I anticipate meeting my short-term targets by the end of six months while operating in the organization. During the longer term, I plan that my development plan will allow me to pursue a leadership role in a school district. With the skills that I will have required in my junior position, I will be able to deploy good communication skills, which will boost decision-making, analyzing problems and situations, as well as writing reports. This way, I will be able to offer constructive feedback on the appropriate paths that the school district will need to follow to ensure that it emerges as one of the most reputable in the country. I will ensure to review my goals as well as accomplishments on a yearly basis to determine whether I have attained them, while making amendments where necessary to make sure that they rhyme with the educational requirements of the school district.
