The title of dissertation was “The Lived Experiences of North Carolina Community College Administrators on Free Tuition Movement Involvement: A Phenomenological Study”. The topic area of the research work was the involvement on free tuition movement, particularly on the community college in North Carolina (Lori, 2019). The research problem that the researcher is addressing is that the standpoints of the community college administration on the perspective of the lived experience is not known. It is essential to have this critical information because they are useful to other learning institutions as they prepare to provide such services of free tuition programs for their learners.
The primary purpose of the study was to get the information from the community college administrators concerning the lived experience about free tuition movement in the North Carolina region. Since there is no real data that exist, it was essential to conduct such a study to enable the administrators to get valuable information necessary that can enable institution to implement free tuition movement the country. The research work was grounded on Transformative Learning Theory. The theory is appropriate in this particular research study because it plays a critical role in capturing what an individual believes and the ideas that are generated as well as other essential perspectives of different individuals. The presenter was therefore clear on the point that the research study was guided by theory. The presenter was clear on the fact that the findings of the research study were crucial in improving the state of free tuition movement in colleges however there are no statements that declare that the research will make a theoretical contribution to the field of study.
