Human aggression is behavior intended to cause harm to others. I am likely to behave aggressively when exposed to violence and feel threatened. Moreover, I am very organized and I do not like people going through my things without permission. I do not tolerate disrespect, such encounters trigger my anger, and I respond physically or verbally aggressively. On some occasions, I have behaved aggressively towards friends who borrow my money, games, or books and fail to return on time. Generally, I am not violent, but I respond aggressively when I feel that someone violates my rights or threatens my safety.
While I may not withdraw the aggressive response towards potential harm of threat, I try to maintain my calmness when I encounter unpleasant situations. I set clear expectations on things and behaviors that I do not like. However, whenever anyone crosses the line, I try not to judge or assume that his or her actions were disrespectful. I understand that it is crucial to managing problems without using aggression or violence. As a result, I try to dialogue with the person to solve the situation peacefully.

Communicating with aggressive people is quite challenging, especially when they use intimidating actions and words. I confront anger by calming the person down to hinder them from using emotional or physical actions that destabilize my security. However, if calming them does not work, I pretend to hear their requests and walk away from the situation. If I feel that my safety is threatened, I leave the environment immediately. The strategy of avoiding confrontation has enabled me to stay safe even in situations where the person wronged me and I had the right to react but chose not to.
