This week’s internship experience was memorable and a good experience. I had the opportunity to practice my leadership skills and learn at the same time. My supervisor appointed me the team leader, and I had to manage the team members and ensure that all their duties were performed promptly and efficiently. It was a small team of colleagues as the supervisor was away for the day. The first duty was to ensure that employees performed their duties and attended to the customers as required irrespective of the fact that our supervisor was away.
Some of the lessons I learned during the week were the management of people can be hard if the group does not understand each other especially when it comes to ones’ roles and responsibility. It is important that people know what is expected of them. Another crucial lesson was the need to involve people in making decisions. Through involvement, they can give their contribution to changes being introduced in an organization and more so develop a good attitude towards the introduction of changes.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
This moment will stay with me for life. The experience was an opportunity for growth and consequently and chance to improve on my leadership style. The areas that I will focus on come the next week will be an introduction to the management of procurement and supplies in the store. This will be crucial in ensuring that there are enough supplies in the store for the customers as well as helping the employees to stock up. Management of the supply chain will also give me experience in the management of a store and help the supervisor with receiving goods from the suppliers. Extra responsibilities I think will help me grow my leadership skills and prepare myself for future leadership roles. The internship is a preparation for my future.
