Choosing a career may seem easy, but it is an area where many people get a lot of challenges. Planning for a career is good because it eliminates the frustration that comes in after choosing a career only to find that it is not coherent with what passion dictates. There is a need to consider desire while choosing a career. Other factors, like the importance of occupation to the society as well as the payback time for a career, should be in play to dictate the direction a person takes.
My Plan on a Career That Adds Value to the World
A career should be valuable to society and the world at large. When planning for such a career, passion and self-interest should have minimal impact on the choice. In my strategic plan for a career that will add value to the world, I will have four steps. The first will be researching the world’s needs; next, I will have self-reflection. Then, I will develop my goals, and the last one will be planning for actions.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
The first phase will entail research on different communities, regions, and countries to understand the current situations and issues that need solutions. Assessing the societal needs that are vital to the majority of the world’s population should be the priority. I will list and rank these matters and evaluate them regarding my interest to venture to any of them that is most important. My preference will be researching to pinpoint the needs, including the risk factors and the underlying solutions that can be critical to tackling such needs. These may also include understanding the most vulnerable groups within the society and underserved areas and sectors in the world. Therefore, the next step will be to do a self-reflection.
The need for self-reflection will be critical to understanding whether I will be in a position to meet the career requirements or address the needs of society under a specific job. Self-reflection will entail assessing my passion in life and what I love and desire. It will involve assessing my history regarding what I have done in the past and what I find myself doing most all the time. I will begin by understanding the traits that make my past, current, and future lifestyle. These will dictate what I love and would like to do the best in my life. Next, I will analyze what I like and dislike to understand what I love and what I hate. The third will be explaining my passion. Here, I will evaluate the situations where I feel engaged, passionate, and energetic. Assessing my strength, interest, and passion will be critical for selecting a career that will add value to society because it is my capabilities that will make me perform well.
The next step is understanding the best ways I can align the needs with my interest so that I get a career that matches the necessities. It will be a career that I will also have capabilities and enthusiasm to perform to my best level. Therefore, developing goals will help align my interest and the world’s need for the career that I have decided to take. I will have SMART goals to take me to my destiny. SMART goals here will mean that I will have specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound goals that will take me to the career path of my choosing. The best way to go is to write down all these goals and document them for future assessments on each target's prog ress.
The last phase is to put my plan on paper for action. The idea here will detail the resources necessary for the career I want. It will also document the qualifications I will need to acquire to meet the needs. Most importantly is the time of the completion of the career path I need. The support I need and the challenges I am likely to face in the future will be part of the plan. First, I will need to understand and get the best institution that can help me develop my career path. Understanding the cost and time for the completion will be critical. At this point, it will be vital to compare the institutions to get an appropriate institution that is cost-friendly but deliver the best. I will then look for means of support for my career path and development. Taking an internship in any institution that addresses such needs will be much more useful to help understand the underlying causative factors to the problem as a preparation to address them .
In conclusion, the plan will enable me to get a career that will be valuable to society. Also, it will help me find a job that will suit my capabilities to allow me to deliver the best to the world.
