Stress occurs to virtually everyone. Whereas some kinds of stress can be controlled, others are beyond human control. Such implies that a person must learn how to deal with different types of stress. The diversity of human nature clearly illuminates the different reactions people have toward stressor. How an individual will react to a particular stressor will be different from the reaction of another person. The first step that is crucial in managing stress is to have a broad category of stressors. By categorizing the stressors, a person will have an idea of what category their stressors fall in. Different studies have classified stressors into general, life, work, and internal stress.

General stressors are exhibited through fear and uncertainty. People are motivated by the feeling of achieving excellent results in whatever they are doing. At times people may fail to proceed with the desires of their heart or pursue their goals because of fear and uncertainty. Fear, in this case, can be real or perceived. The resultant effect of fear is stress. Humans are predictive and speculative. People build hope and faith on issues that they can predict their outcomes. Uncertainty hampers the predictive aspect of human, which can lead to the onset of stress.

Life stresses are inevitable for any person. For example, the death of a friend or family member, changes in responsibilities, marriage issues, sexual problems, abuse, crime and financial problems. The occurrence of any of the highlighted issues may trigger stress. From the survey, the client exhibits elements of life stress. Work stress in another type of stressor that is affecting many people. In the workplace, people face different occupational stressors, which are challenges. For instance, poor communication, job demands, job dissatisfaction, promotion or demotion, criticism, and lack of support lead to stress among the worker. The last category of stressors, which is equally important, is the internal stress. Internal stress is created by the individual context. A person can develop stress based on how they view and perceive situations. Some of the issues that lead to internal stress include unrealistic expectations, seeking perfection, wanting to be in control, and negative self-talk. All these categories are fully or partially exhibited by subject based on the score of the Holmes-Raye Life Stress Inventory and Perceived Stress Questionnaire.

Dealing with stress becomes easier once a person has identified the stress triggers. It is recommended that a person should understand the scope of stress to develop effective measures of mitigating the challenges. The first recommendation is that one should turn toward reality. The perfect world is idealized, in reality, life is full of challenges. The hurdles in life are never-ending when you jump one you should expect to encounter more hurdles, some of them difficult to overcome but possible. By turning into reality, a person will understand the need to approach different situations more prudently and carefully. Understating the reality of life enhances the self-confidence of people. Confidence spurs a person to have a strong sense of belief that they can conquer and overcome life stresses and challenges.

Managing stress also entail embracing life as the current situation depicts rather than the anticipation of future. By dealing with the current situation, a person will set a solid precedent for developing a better future. In most instances, people tend to focus on the future ignoring burning issues of the present. Such implies that a person should appreciate what the present brings forth whether good or bad and take the chance to correct the present mistakes for a better future.

In life, people encounter myriad of challenges. Success and failure are part of life. Even the most affluent people in life have failed at some point in time. The greatest favor that a person can do for self is accepting that success and failure are crucial components of life journey. When one takes the acceptance stance, he or she is likely to deal with stress that is triggered by failure effectively. People abhor failing; however, a person who knows how to deal with stress effectively will learn from the failure and move on with life in the quest for success. The last recommendation of managing stress is to develop a formidable and strong relationship with people. Both family and social support help a person to overcome life challenges.
