Older white adults have been at the forefront of voting in every election. This has been evident in the numbers provided by the United States Census Bureau. Accounting for over 50% of the voter turnouts, the older white adults have been significant in determining the outcomes of every election. This has been influenced by the fact that older white adults are perceived as the stability of America. As compared to other Americans, older white adults turn out in large numbers to protect their interests. In fear of being displaced in the political scene, they are motivated to vote a candidate who they believe can protect their social, economic, and political interests. They are therefore obliged with the responsibility of ensuring that they participate in critical moments that define the future of America. According to Magstadt, individuals and the society at large have to define the nation they wish to live in (Magstadt, 2017). They should, therefore, find ways in which they can be involved with government activities. This is a suggestion that the political environment is defined by the choices and decisions that are made by individuals and society at large.

Political parties in attempts to clinch various seats through their respective candidates have the opportunity to cultivate voters to win their support. Most of the political parties utilize the presence of voters through speeches and attractive manifestos. Considering the position held by political parties affiliated to the whites, they use the opportunity to influence older white adults to vote them to safeguard their interests (Brandon, 2012). On the other hand, manifestos have proven to be an effective tool to win the support of older white voters. Political parties craft manifestos that address the plights of voters to show their concern about their lives.
