Introduction

Ethics refer to the acceptable codes of conduct in the society, which are significant in shaping the behavior as well as activities that take place among people ( Alwi, Ali & Nguyen, 2017) . Ethical people are capable of distinguishing between right and wrong and consistently struggle to be good examples to others. In an organization, an ethical person is honest and fair and this enhances the relationship he or she has with the colleagues.

Ethics also make sure that all workers are treated equally without discrimination. It motivates employees and prevents grudges in an organization. Moreover, it also encourages career progression in a company, and this is built on an individual’s competence in observing ethics. Besides, an organization that is ethically founded, the management is always honest with their workers concerning matters that affect their performance ( Alwi, Ali & Nguyen, 2017) . Workers feel that they are a part of the firm and hence motivating them to improve their performance. Furthermore, ethics in a firm also creates a favorable environment for employees. Workers also have a chance to express their views, and this enhances the association between workers, employers, and management. Business ethics also ensures that every employee has high self-esteem and respects others as well as becoming more accountable in all that they do.

Effective leadership maintains trust and honesty since communication is efficient and this serves as a good example and nurtures positive associations with all the stakeholders in the company. When there is a substantial commitment to leadership, all worker stick to the standards of the company’s behavior ( Alwi, Ali & Nguyen, 2017) . Moreover, confidence is also elevated among the workers. Leadership style impacts ethics to a high degree. All the activities in a company are left in the hands of the management team and therefore, the behavior of the same determines the performance and profitability of a business. Thus, firms ought to implement consistent leadership that is accountable to all operations of the workers at all angles for an organization to be successful.

Besides, ethics determines the culture that a firm implements and this is the foundation of the performance and operation of workers who are ethical. Positive morals are utilized to generate cultures where boundaries and rules are used to support innovation by workers and hinder unwanted competition among them since this negatively affect morale resulting in underperformance ( Alwi, Ali & Nguyen, 2017) . Frequently, the managers in companies that adopt positive ethical cultures strive to make sure that the workers are capable of learning and improving on their abilities to perform better in their work positions.

Based on what I have learned in this course, I tend to approach ethics from a respect point of view. Respect is essential in the workplace since every individual enjoys working with others and this improves performance as well as morale leading to improved productivity. If compliance is maintained between workers and management, an organization functions in the desired way. Respect and ethics mean that there are no instances of such behaviors that include abusive language, sexual harassment, roomer mongering among other unacceptable behaviors that destroy the relationship among employees in a company.

Conclusion

From the course, it is quite clear that ethics is vital for any business as provided in the paper. A company that is ethical performs well as compared with others since all stakeholders including workers, managers, stockholders, debtors, creditors, and suppliers among others function in harmony. Moreover, ethics ensures that there is growth in the company and this increases its performance and profitability. Therefore, in future, I pledge to support ethics since the advantages of businesses being ethical outstand and business operations improve leading the organization’s growth. It is good to stick to the recommended business ethics and value how people relate in a business.
