Question 1
The article presented talks about how globalization has evolved in Latin America. It is interesting to learn that prior to the present globalization trends, Latin America had already witnessed various effects of different globalization processes which date back to the 15 th and 16 th Centuries. It is also interesting to learn that globalization was quite different in ancient America and Europe (Anton, 1998). For instance the fact that the ancient Americans planted crops manually while Europeans did so using powerful iron plows that were pulled by horses or oxen.
Then came the time when the European military invaded the Americas during the war. This wave saw most of the Americas being ruled by foreign military authority. The economic wave which followed the military one was generally driven by economic interests (Anton, 1998). I believe that the cultural and environmental waves had the most impact on Latin America in terms of public lands being privatized, and establishment of new settlements.

Question 2
I believe that this particular article is significant to evaluate because it deals with the issue of transnational organized crime (Love, 2003). It is apparent that this issue has blossomed and thus created much concern across the globe. Additionally, the definition of organized crime has also evolved with time and now reflects the increased complication and foreign nature of the occurrence (Love, 2003). Activities such as corruption, human trafficking, money laundering, and narcotics trafficking have been identified as criminal activities commonly engaged in by transnational criminal entities.
I also believe that the issue presented in this article will be important to assess because innocent immigrants are being lured into the trap of a good, prosperous future, only to be tortured or tormented by their captors. That is why the overall aspects of a specific manifestation of transnational organized crime present in the local context must be investigated, and a policy developed.
