Before a speaker prepares for a public address, it is significant to conduct an audience analysis. It involves acknowledging the audience and developing a speech of their attitudes, interests, beliefs, and understanding levels. Notably, an audience analysis does not entail grandstanding but rather adopts an approach for guiding the speaker's content (Kjeldsen, 2018). The success of any speech depends on the acceptability of the audience. There are several factors to be considered while preparing for a speech. As I prepare Mayor Smith's speech, I would consider the age of the audience.

While preparing for a speech, it is significant for speakers to look at the type of audience, background, beliefs, and attitudes and age. In my view, age is the most important factor to consider while addressing Twin Fawn Community Association. Knowing the age of the audience makes it easier to understand their demands, desires and needs. Notably, people of different age groups have other interests and attitudes. Therefore, as a speaker, one cannot deliver a similar speech from each age group. The speaker should identify the crucial elements that will make his or her speech attractive. For example, I would advise Mayor Smith to use the same language and tone while addressing older adults and children due to the complexity of words.

Response to Peer

Hello, Student name. I like the selected factor in the age of the audience. We selected the same element, but I think you had an in-depth discussion and made a fair comparison between different ages while analyzing Mayor Smith's speech. For example, you elaborated on how you would make the speech funnier while addressing young people. However, I did not understand the comparison to include in the discussion regarding using the same tone and language while addressing elderly adults and children with 8-year-olds.
