The current technological advancements have positively influenced the operations of businesses today. Human Resource is an example of a department that has greatly benefited from the current technological advancements. For example, the recruitment process by the Human Resource department has been made easier by the presence of technological tools such as the Applicants tracking systems and the use of Video Interviews. These tools have not only made work easier but they have helped save time and influenced the efficiency of the recruitment process. 

The Applicant tracking system is a technological tool that is used in managing and tracking applicant’s information. Through the applicants tracking systems the Human Resource department posts job opportunities on this platform. Applicants access the job post and thus send their resumes and application letters (3 tech tools that can simplify your recruitment process, 2017). The Human resource department through this tool is able to access the applicant’s information and keep an open dialogue with the applicants. It also gives them access to their requisition statuses. Video Interviewing is also another technological tool that is mainly used by the Human Resource Department in the recruitment process. Video interviewing is mainly used to prescreen and select the most potential applicants. The video interviews can be pre-programed and have been efficient in eliminating telephone interviews. The best approach for video interviews is when the recruiters prerecord questions through videos or just type the questions and require the applicants to respond using videos. The applicants also have the advantage to choose the time to respond within the allocated schedule. The Human Resource department has benefited from the video interviewing tools as they enable make the applicant selection process easier by identifying the applicant’s worth booking meetings with them.
