Parental involvement in the education of students is vital as it helps children succeed in their studies. All children learn better when their parents engage with them in the learning process, and this is particularly important for ELL students who experience language challenges. The present family resource list is designed with the objective of sharing best practices in engaging ELL’s families in the education of their children. It is vital to develop family collaborations because this association influences all involved parties. Besides, students learn better when the family and the school cooperate to support education.

When families get involved in the education of their children at home, students perform better in school. Families are, thus, a crucial component of student achievement. A family environment that enhances learning is critical to the achievement of students than other factors such as cultural background, education level and income. School achievement depends more on learning activities that ELL students experience in their homes than on individual school subjects such as science or mathematics. Home learning activities are vital activities that family members at home can engage in to increase academic success of their children. It is, therefore, important to initiate family involvement early in the educational process of the child to have more positive outcomes.
