Schools play a critical role in a student's academic and psychological development. Furthermore, an institution's physical environment impacts learners' academic progress. Learning institutions should promote a healthy environment that enables students to effectively network and interact with both teachers and their peers for both academic and social progress. Originally, I am from the United States of America and I live in Fullerton. The country and my place of residence are diverse communities like the institution and that is one of the reasons I believe it provides me with a conducive environment for academic and social growth.
Working with children is a fulfilling experience for me. Currently, I work as an aide at the Pomona Unified School District. I have been working at the institution for about a year. The school is a world-class educational system that emphasizes academic excellence and career pathways that promote personal growth and contribute to societal growth by providing solutions to challenges facing the world. Additionally, the school encourages diversity and cooperation among learners and teachers; thus, it has contributed to the development of my interpersonal skills. Effective communication plays a critical role in personal growth and interaction. Working at Pomona Unified School District as an aide provided me with the opportunity to enhance my skills by interacting with the students and networking with the teachers. Pomona Unified School District is divided into three sections – elementary school, middle school, and high school. The elementary division caters to children aged between 5-10 years, middle school 11-13 years, and high school 14-18 years old. I have worked with children between the age levels of 5-10 years olds. The elementary division has empowered me and taught me how to teach, cater for and react to challenges facing learners in early childhood education. The experience has been worthwhile and I have learned that each age group has its challenges. Children in elementary school experience unique challenges compared to teenagers in high school and it is the teachers' responsibility to understand how to react and settle issues affecting learners based on their age.

Academic advancement is essential for career and personal growth as it opens new opportunities. During my stay at Pomona Unified School District, I developed an increased passion for children in elementary school and it is one of the reasons I wish to pursue a degree in early childhood education. The societal and economic growth of any nation depends on education. Early childhood education provides learners with the opportunity to interact with one another; thus, contributing to their emotional, social, cognitive, and physical needs that help in the building of a solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and academic progress. As a result, a degree in early childhood education will help me to provide children in elementary school with meaningful and relevant opportunities for the learners to engage with one another and contribute to their cognitive, physical, emotional, and academic growth. Moreover, I believe a degree in early childhood education will assist me in mastering various forms of informal and structured understanding, self-regulation, creativity, imagination, physical strength, language development, and social competence that will contribute to the growth of the children and societal development. Additionally, a degree in early childhood development helps me to contribute to the growth of the nation both directly and indirectly. The academic qualification will help me in securing a job and I will contribute to the economic development of the country through payment of taxes. The knowledge that I will pass to the learners will assist them to be academically fit and when the time comes they can promote the economic, political, and social growth of the nation. Therefore, a degree in early childhood education is essential for the personal growth, career development, economic, and social growth of both the educator and learners.
Overall, my other motivation to pursue a degree in early childhood education is motivated by my personal experiences as a child. I believe I was exposed to numerous learning challenges as a minor because of an ineffective learning system that undermined my growth. It took me time to learn how to speak because of a lack of exposure in my elementary school. Consequently, the challenge made it difficult for me to interact with my peers. I was shy and antisocial since I believed my peers would laugh at me whenever I spoke. My elementary school teacher was harsh and did not help the situation and this made me feel secluded in school. The challenges that I experienced in elementary school made me question my capabilities, adversely affected my self-esteem, and made me hate school. A degree in early childhood education will help me correct the wrongs and protect other minors from such unfortunate situations. When growing up some of the people who had the patience of listening to me are my parents and best friend. In school, it was difficult for me to communicate because of the problems I was exposed to in class. As an early childhood educator, I will focus on understanding the challenges affecting every child and work with their parents to overcome the problems. The strategy will help me to provide society with confident and emotionally strong children who can express themselves and feel safe while at school. Finally, I do recall my early experience with literacy, especially, newspapers. I loved perusing through newspaper pages because of the pictures. My mother could occasionally read to me newspaper articles about superheroes and they motivated me to be one in the future. Unfortunately, I cannot remember the books at home but newspaper articles and cartoons played a significant role in my early experience with literacy by exposing me to the world of superheroes. Accepting my application to pursue a degree in early childhood education at your institution will be beneficial to me, the school, and the future children of this country.
