Diversity among educational institutions has become crucial. Several initiatives have been put in place by the education department to ensure and promote diversity in education facilities. Some of the initiatives include establishing the bridge in the form of a conversation forum to enable students, professional staff, and the faculty to develop and enhance their cultural knowledge, competencies, and awareness (College of the Education University of Missouri). Another initiative is the establishment of the Diversity committee in 2011 to provide institutions with leadership that foster diversity and inclusion for all students, staff, and the faculties. In the same year, the Office of Recruitment and Retention was created to increase the recruitment and retention of more students from diverse backgrounds. The 2012 office of the Global Engagement initiative was established to support new college-wide diversity-related programs.
The strength of the initiatives is that they facilitates integration and functional relationship between individuals. Diversity enables institutions to deal with cases of discrimination hence ensuring that individuals are treated with respect and equality irrespective of their origin.

One of the opportunities that facilitate the success of integration in education is the presence of languages like English, which the majority of nationalities can understand. The language barrier hinders integration. However, the availability of common language ensures that individuals can effectively communicate as one, irrespective of their nationality. Besides, with multilingual, students have the opportunity to learn new languages that enable them to fit into society. Another opportunity is the continued globalization that promotes people to move to different parts of the world for employment and education. According to Kaiser (2019), global interaction allows the efficient movement of people from one nation to the other. The rise of the internet and online platforms enhance the ability of students to interact freely without the limitation of race and nationality.
