Communicating effectively varies due to various factors among them gender. Men and women communicate differently, and such communication is largely influenced by understanding unique invisible rules relevant to each gender ( Akmajian, Farmer, Bickmore, Demers, & Harnish, 2017) . Continued studies have shown that each gender has a unique culture that mainly shapes their way of communicating.

Communication in itself is marred by several challenges that range from a misinterpretation of the message by recipients thus decoding the wrong information. Additionally, wrong communication channels and tools form another critical issue in communication ( Mayer, Borges, & Simske, 2018) . In numerous instances, a communication tool may not give room for gauging whether the intended message has been decoded successfully as well as reducing the personal contact that is integral in driving information home.

Verbal and non-verbal communication differs among gender ( Burgoon, Guerrero, & Floyd, 2016) . The most notable aspect of the verbal communication between genders is the word use, grammatical structure, word order as well as speaking time distribution. The aspect of talkativeness stands out as a trait of women in communication contrast to men’s less talkative nature. Additionally, women will tend to use less assertive speech in comparison to men. Nonverbal aspects of communication associated more with women are the use of gestures, facial expressions and visual behavior ( Mehrabian, 2017) .

Communicating effectively is a paramount aspect of communication ( Thompson, 2018) . It is important that the chosen communication channel is clearly outlined, detailed, and using an appropriate outline format. Such formats display confidence in the nature of communication being passed. However, the detailed information should employ simple words to ensure ease in decoding the messages being communicated.
