I am writing to support the enactment of the Low-income parents Ed Child Care Bill. This bill is a fundamental and crucial first step in supporting the needs of low-income parents and their children. It is also a commendable attempt to end the inequality in the access to education which has affected mainly the low-income parents.

This is important since it will provide parents with an opportunity to take part in the decision making process to determine the child care services given to their children. This will ensure appropriate services are provided to each child.
However, while I support the good intention of the bill to provide support to low-income parents in taking care of the needs of their children, I am concerned that the budgetary allocation for the role is insufficient to cater for all the child care needs. Child care needs are diverse and many and they require substantial investment for them to be taken care of adequately. This should thereby be addressed.
