Administrative skills are essential for business operators and office work. It is quite important to master some of the administrative skills as they are needed in almost every form and level of work. Some of the common administrative skills include proper communication skills, technological skills, skills of management, time management, problem-solving skills and technical oversight among others. Technical skills refer to the knowledge or skills required in order to accomplish a particular job or task successfully. One may not qualify for a specific job without some of the necessary technical skills in that particular area. A person must show the capacity of knowledge of certain skills and also be able to put that knowledge or skills to practice appropriately. Interpersonal skills, on the other hand, refer to those we apply in our communication and interaction with other people. Interpersonal skills include the skills of communication, team-working, emotional intelligence, negotiation and influencing skills, decision-making skills and mediation skills among others. These skills are important both in a person's personal and professional life. An individual with exceptional interpersonal skills tends to be very successful in their work ( Mujtaba, 2013) . 

A Chief Executive Officer of a large non-profit company as well as a shift manager in an automotive production line, require all the skills mentioned above. The CEO, require the administrative skills to organize, coordinate and delegate duties of the organization. The CEO also needs to have proper technical skills required in the area of work as a manager. Interpersonal skills are important in addressing the people in the organization. The shift manager requires administrative skills to coordinate and delegate shifts for workers. He is also expected to have the necessary technical skills needed as a shift manager in order to be able to calculate and delegate shifts. The shift manager must also address the workers in a proper manner using proper interpersonal skills ( Mujtaba, 2013) .
