There are two flashbulb memories I am eager to share. One is where my grandfather passed away January 3, 2016. Our family had never experienced death from a close member, and this was a very shocking tragedy to every member of the family. I can recall when I first received the tragic news and the moment I arrived at the hospital after receiving the shocking news of his demise. There are fresh memories of him lying in the casket during his funeral and the grief that everyone went through.
I consider this memory as my flashbulb memory of my grandfather since we were inseparable and a close family. We could get together as a whole family for events such as birthdays and during holidays. There is a void in the family that cannot be replaced since the day he passed away and the family is no longer the same. His demise is an event that left every member of the family emotional ( Brown, Kulik & Lim, 2016 ).

The second example happened on June 23, 2017, where I was involved in a fatal car accident. I was in a coma for eight weeks. I received the devastating news when I awakened. Glamorous sunshine was visible outside through the hospital windows, but my feelings and mood were opposite. The nurse was overjoyed to see me wake up; I can remember her broad smile. She told me what happened since I could not remember how I ended up in the hospital. She told me I was involved in a car accident that flipped over thrice.
I can recall the stream of tears that run down my cheeks. I received the devastating news that I could not walk and had to visit a rehabilitation centre due to the trauma I had experienced. I had to learn how to walk over again. Many questions are answered since the day I received the accident news ( Brown, 2016).
