My research has expounded my knowledge in terms of interpretations of what Michaela Pilar Brown intended to convey in her Speak No art. For example, the armed soldiers on the black woman's head may presume a protective approach to her thoughts and ideas. However, more depth and breadth indicates that the arrangements show more of the black woman's internal fights with societal inequalities and insensitivities to her beauty and self-worth (Carolina Art News, 2017). Therefore, her work seems to champion the freedom of expression of black women in beauty and personality.

My research also strengthens my understanding of the author's activism character and a personality full of empathy and intense imagination abilities. First, the author shows her affiliation with the black race and emphasizes blackness in her work through the dark spots on the image (Heinrich, 2015). Besides, the author's playful character is portrayed, and it enables her to express her activism in the fight for black feminism and misconceptions and insensitivities towards black women's physicality (Carolina Art News, 2017). Michaela Pilar Brown brings out herself as an object and image-maker. In her words, she asserts to being fascinated with memories, myths, rituals, and body (Society 1858, n.d.).

Example of applying your research to implement a change in one’s personal or professional life

Research is useful in that it diversifies the understanding of an object or an individual. There are various ways in which research can be used to implement change in one’s personal or professional life. For example, if an individual is focused on being an artist and is not conversant on protocols that need to be followed to meet the dream, the research will help such an individual to know what is required from them.

Furthermore, another example of the importance of research is; if an individual is focused on becoming a professional cosmetologist, my research will enable such an individual to know all that is needed to become a professional cosmetologist. For example, one needs to understand that cosmetology requires an individual to be the best in beauty practicals since it is all about practical.
