The development of Islam as a religion dramatically spread around 560 to 632. It is during this time that Islam was adopted and started spreading to the Arabian Peninsula before other northern countries took it. The mosque was first built by Prophet Muhammad in Medina and was later copied by other subsequent mosques. Islamic in Spain, too, followed the path of Syria and established its architecture where the Visigothic church was initially built. Besides, the architecture in Spain was huge enough to accommodate even more Islamic worshippers. It was accompanied by decorative designs such as granites and marbles. The entrance of lights in this architecture was constructed in a rather miraculous way. The spread gave way for the evolution of the architecture, and subsequent ones would even be greater.

Islamic architecture in India was constructed in place of Hindu. Mosques were erected where the Hindu temples were, revealing a unique new pattern of religious buildings in India. As compared to the Hindu temple buildings, Islamic architecture allowed enough light into the worship space. The Islam architecture also had a sky-open design that provided enough room for the worshippers. It can, therefore, be noted that the sequence of Islamic architecture took place where there were other religious buildings. The uniqueness of Islamic architecture developed as the religion spread across different countries.
