A quite number of misconceptions have been levied on the concept of evolution with different people coming up with different facts and misconception about evolution. This video points at the misconception that starts with the less weight given to the meaning of scientific theory which seems to be misunderstood by a large part of a population. However, most of the facts about evolution that are so common among people are simply misconception as explained in this video. For instance, many people assume that evolution explains the development and origin of the world. Others also claim that the evolution theory explains abiogenesis or how life begun. However, according to this film, these are all misconception as evolution only explains the development and diversity of living organism over a generation.

Alternatively, not only the concept of natural selection has been misunderstood, other evolution term such as mutation also faces similar misconceptions. For instance, many people associate the term mutation with unusual creatures for example creatures with two heads or special ordinary characters according to this video. Other examples which are commonly associated with the mutation is harmful changes in animals, for instance, a dog giving birth to a cat or changes to a cat when a mutation occurs. According to this video, these are all misconceptions which should not be given a significant consideration by the scientist or any other interested individual. Mutation according to this video is a change in genetic variation within population brought about by genetic deletion, insertion or recombination. According to this video, most genetic variation which causes mutation is neutral and less harmful.
