How does the tale show growth in Erec and Enide and their love?
The poem by Chretien de Troyes shows the adventure of Erec who is married to the daughter of a Vavasor, Enide (De Troyes, 1997) . Erec meets Enide in a distant town where he is sent by the queen to pursue an unruly knight. It is interesting that the two lovebirds meet in a contest in which Erec defeats the knight to win a falcon for the most beautiful lady, who happens to be Enide. Although Enide and Erec are brought together through the tournament, their story is filled with passion as they face the days yet to come after their marriage.
How does the tale illustrate what would be considered chivalric behavior?
The knight, Yder, is considered of a chivalric behavior through his act of approaching the queen and mistreating her servant (De Troyes, 1997) . A knight is supposed to protect his people and defend their safety. Such a knight is not supposed to abandon or neglect his duties, or unfairly treat others. Erec shows chivalric when he neglects his knightly responsibilities due to his overwhelming affection for Enide and the desire to be with her (De Troyes, 1997) . Both of these knights abuse the Coe of Chivalry by going against its moral concepts.

What's up with all the absolutes?
The tale depicts to a great extent absolute in which everything depicts the strength of love in conquering challenges and changing set systems although this might be going against the set societal conditions. The love Erec and Enide have for each other is responsible for redefining the role of the knight when in the end Erec frees all the prisoners and reunites them with their families (De Troyes, 1997) . the fact that this action occurs at the last part of the poem depicts the mantra, "love conquers everything."
