The North Atlantic Treaty Organization remains the pillar and the foundation of the United States-European military Corporation. In its operations, the world bloc has expanded its activities focusing on achieving different missions with the objective of increasing its activities in the provision of security. This organization was established in the year 1949 after the close of the world war with the aim of creating the right path through which the region could achieve its set objectives. In the operation of the organization, NATO has experienced a positive experience, and it operates with the aim of meeting the needs of the countries especially threats from other nations such as Russia (Bono, 2017). Achievement of these objectives depends on the ability of the military to experience an increased level of commitment to the military organization by focusing on the missions of the organization.

The significance of educational leadership in today's NATO organizations

North Atlantic Treaty Organization focuses on ensuring that all members of the movement focus on transformation's mission. Under this mission, the organizations seek to increase the level of peace, security, and a territorial alliance of the member countries. These goals could only be achieved in a situation where people believe that it is essential for the transformation of the military by changing its structure, forces, doctrines, and its capabilities. This mission acts as guidance for assisting NATO to meet its set objectives and purposes as it works as guidance for the member countries. In an attempt to realize these goals, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization has ended up establishing several strategies that ought to be applied in improving the military. For instance, NATO has launched an education and training program through which each member country can achieve some level of improvement in its military (Bono, 2017).

The Allied Command Transformation Act is also a testimony designed to ensure that people in society need to have adequate access to education and training. Through this program, the member alliances stand a chance for experiencing various benefits which move a significant one. For example, the organization's members will gain opportunities for enduring the purpose for safeguarding freedom and security since the training program focuses on ensuring that all member countries have a chance for improving the safety of its alliances (Deni, 2016). Through the training program, people agree that the military forces acquire mechanisms for detecting an activity that is likely to threaten the well-being of the organization alliances. Also, the training approach also establishes tools through which people understand the mechanisms they should apply in deterring and preventing the occurrence of the event that makes it a firm plan for increasing the level of security among the member countries. The transformational approach used by the people is designed to ensure that all people in the involved communities have a chance for developing and increasing the rate at which the military get new training ideas.

Effective leadership based on theories

Leading calls for a need of ensuring that people recognized as leaders should be in a position to motivate and encourage people to behave in a particular manner that is directed toward achieving a common goal. Effective leadership calls for a need of establishing ways based on theories to ensure that all people feel included in the team and work towards achieving a particular goal (Priest & Gass, 2017). Leaders do not only need to be intelligent with the ability to solve problems, but they also need to be effective and possess the capability to handle people in different situations. The primary objective of the leadership approach is to ensure there is motivation and encouragement of all people to achieve a particular objective set by the organization. For instance, the trait theory focuses on understanding the quality of leaders such as the ability to make decisions and improve its quality in the situation where people develop skills associated with increased level of inclusion of all team members. Though leadership qualities such as charismatic and confidence are essential for leaders, effective leaders need to develop additional skills required in the development of successful leadership skills.

Effective leadership needs to incorporate different leadership skills such as behavioral, trait, and transformational theories. A behavioral method requires that leaders need to be in a position to demonstrate both task and people orientation decision-making approaches. Under such circumstances, people in power need to develop ways through which people can improve and understand the behaviors of people thus making decisions based on their ability and the expectation of people in an organization (McLeskey & Waldron, 2015). The behavioral activities of an individual determine the level of understanding that each in the organization can develop and understand the ways for understanding and developing required skills. Transformational leadership theory calls for a need of ensuring that people in the society develop skills required in motivating and encouraging subjects to live in a particular manner (Priest & Gass, 2017). In most cases, people will develop skills needed in ensuring that people understand the method in which people acquire adequate skills needed to achieve the set goal in an organization.

Behavioral model that Fits NATO

North Atlantic Treaty Organization focuses on providing education to its alliances with an objective of increasing the security awareness, methods of fighting against and preventing the occurrence of security issues. Achieving these goals requires the implementation of several leadership skills such as transformational, trait, and behavioral skills needed in promoting change among the military of member countries (Deni, 2016). Change in the force and military department requires that all people in the military institution including the army of the member country should be informed of the direction of change and accept the movement towards that direction. Willingness to bring transformation depends on the ability of people in the organization to take that change and move towards achieving the common goal for promoting safety (St John, 2017). Similarly, the leadership skills also need to be involving to welcome ideas from individuals from different member states thus choosing the appropriate way of achieving this goal.

Transformational leadership mission serves the interests of the training and educating program exercised by NATO. The establishment of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization focused on ensuring that people in the society understand the ways through which the member countries can become strong and prevent threats such s those from Russian military (St John, 2017). Transformational leadership best suits this situation because it promotes a positive change at both individual and social levels where all people have a chance which serves the interests of the people. Though the leader focuses on creating change among the subjects, there is always the welcoming of member countries to engage and participate in the changing of the people. NATO focuses on creating change in the military which is an institution in the society. As a result, the transformation achieved in the military force should reflect the ideas of all members of the organization. North Atlantic Treaty Organization shows she focuses on creating change in the organization such that all people need to come to accept and exercise the designed policies and principles.

Application of Organizational Theory by NATO

Organizational theory is an appropriate concept that focuses on explaining the ways which leaders and people forming an organization can interact and understand the values within each group (Shafritz et al., 2015). In a situation where people develop adequate skills required in the development of the right paths for achieving the goal. North Atlantic Treaty Organization is formed of different countries, and they focus on ensuring that people in the society develop adequate skills required in understanding how people acquire sufficient skills of understanding the differences between the nations that form the alliances. Military for different countries usually have different needs, and the level of commitment depends on the extent to which the organization serves their interests. As the NATO leadership team educates people about their achievements and the reasons to join the international military approach, they need to consider the benefits of each team.

North Atlantic Treaty Organization seeks to move and create an awareness of the majority of other nations to form a strong alliance that focuses on meeting the international security (North Atlantic Treaty Organization, 2010). Increasing the coalition of the countries that become members of NATO requires exploration of the differences between the member states thus forming an initiative for addressing the needs of each country. Since organizational theory focuses on establishing a clear understanding of the differences between subgroups and groups within an organization, it becomes the appropriate approach for NATO leaders to employ in achieving the set goals. The objective of this organization is to promote an alliance that is capable of preventing unconventional threats that may face the nations. Also, there is a need for creating a condition favoring success in Afghanistan, and this depends on the ability of the leaders to apply organizational theory to understanding the needs of each of the alliance.

Importance of innovation and improvement in leadership

Innovation and development are essential aspects that every successful leader should possess. In most cases, the organization faces challenges such as operation problems or employee relations that cause problems in the business (Horth & Buchner, 2014). Under such circumstances, leaders need to be creative enough in coming up with ways for solving the problems. Some problems are predictable while others are unpredictable and they need the application of techniques for improving the successful strategies. Innovation and improvements become essential in analyzing the ways and mechanisms for handling these problems. An innovative approach to leadership means bringing new thinking to administration and in an organization that makes it easy for people to identify the best ways which can be applied in leading, managing, and addressing individual’s work.

Some changes in an organization cause pressure are calling for a need of individuals and organizations to be innovative and bring improvements to the organization. The first step of this process is increasing the capability of the people in developing ways of navigating these challenges. Innovation creates an opportunity for people to analyze the issue and repair it with an order to minimize the damages that may face the business in a case where a question arises (Horth & Buchner, 2014). Such problems originate from the fact that companies keep on expanding and becoming complicated thus calling for a need of developing innovation and improving the functioning of the organization. For example, NATO increased the number of member countries thus bringing different views from the countries’ military which make NATO a complicated institution.

Examples of systemic change in educational institutions

Several cases of systematic change have occurred in the education system especially in the United States. For instance, there is a focus on changing from the traditional ways of education to adopting a new approach. The new education system emphasizes creating an education approach where people have skills and needs designed to increase interconnectedness, active learning and shared decision-making approach in addressing the teaching process. The systematic changes in the educational system in the US focus on moving from step to the other showing a systematic movement (Fullan, 2014). For example, the educators start by maintaining the old system of education while focusing on creating some changes.

In the next step, the educational stakeholders realize that the current education system is not working as it is used thus becoming aware of the challenges facing the institution. As a result, they develop new knowledge about teaching and learning process focusing on creating an improvement in the system (Fullan, 2014). However, they remain unclear about what is expected in the organization, but they stay focused on achieving the set objectives. The process moves to the next step of exploration of the issue which ends up with positive recommendations expected in the organization. The transition process calls for a need of developing ways such as creating infrastructure by changing the syllabus or creating an opportunity for providing new teaching and learning techniques. At this stage, there will be a development of predominance of the new system thus creating change in the organization.

Examples of Global NATO Educational Leadership Issues

NATO educational leadership faces several challenges that make it difficult for the leaders to achieve the set objectives with ease. As a result, the leadership team focuses on ensuring that there is an establishment of the innovations and improvements to make the leadership team a successful one. NATO education system focuses on providing that there is a training of people from the global region to achieve the set objectives of the system (Bono, 2017). In effect, there is a possibility that the international security environment will change in both predictable and unpredictable manner. In effect, the forces that can come within the global approach can intensify for a change in the leadership and teaching process used in the NATO teaching and learning institution. Based on these changes, it is expected that the education system in NATO tends to empower some groups while at the same time marginalizing the others because of the intensification of the global system. Based on this information, NATO must find a chance for improving its operations in both the marginalized and the empowered regions. NATO remains the central institution through which the people in the society receive adequate information about the military. However, this region is full of conflict which makes it challenging for the institution to achieve its set objectives.

In conclusion, the analysis of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization reveals that the institution has experienced several advancements that make it the leading global organization. For example, the organization has maintained the membership door open, and its achievements can be witnessed through the increased number of members recorded since the establishment of the institution. An increment of membership indicates that people feel satisfied with the services such as the leadership and learning process exercised in the organization. The leadership approach has been focusing on creating cohesiveness, effectiveness, and a multicultural path towards achieving the global move towards security (Bono, 2017). As a result, the system has established most of its goals by encouraging most countries to attain the set objectives. For example, NATO has achieved a reduction in the rules required in performing the reduction of cyber attacks and threats that can result in from countries such as Iran. As a result, there is an indication that NATO has made several achievements and need some innovation and improvements to achieve the set objectives.
