Psychology is an area of study that looks at various issues that affect human beings in their environment. One latest development in the field of psychology is neuroimaging. Different psychologist has varied opinions about neuroimaging. However, I believe that neuroimaging have many beneficial applications in the field of psychology that can help improve the lives of people in various environment. For example, using neuroimaging can be useful in examining the stress levels and factors among people who hail from minority ethnic groups. A research study by Adonis et al., (2014), reports that the knowledge of neuroimaging can be used in helping to treat stress among people who come from ethnic minority groups. The authors conducted a research study that revealed that environmental and social factors lead to increased amounts of stress among people from ethnic minority groups. Such levels of stress also make the population susceptible to brain disorders such as schizophrenia.

Another research study by Desmyter, Biljttebier, and van Heeringe (2013) report that neuroimaging can be beneficial in helping study suicidal behaviour. The authors found out during a molecular neuroimaging study that those with suicidal behaviour have decreased prefrontal perfusion and a blunted increase in activation when facing challenging situations that borders on history suicide attempts. Moreover, the authors have also shown that current functional and structural imaging studies has shown various changes in cortical and sub cortical areas ad their connection in aiding suicidal behaviours. Thus, the use of neuroimaging can be used effectively in studying the psychological factors that aid suicidal behaviours among people of various ages. Moreover, Desmyter, Biljttebier, and van Heeringe (2013) also report that neuroimaging is important in helping doctors, psychologists, and psychiatrists to study suicidal behaviours and come up with effective methods that can be used to reduce the occurrence of such incidences among the populations.
