Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a disorder that involves disturbing thoughts, images or even unwanted images that go through the mind of children, teens or adolescents and causes discomfort or anxiety. Watching the video Living With OCD dispelled a bit of the knowledge that I had in regards to OCD. Prior to watching the video, I had known that every person living with OCD knows their obsession is true and sometimes do not even have to focus on their obsession and don't have to stop the compulsive actions. However as the video illustrated, many people living with OCD believes their obsessions are not true. They, however, find it hard keeping their focus off the obsessions and further stopping compulsive actions.
The video gave me in-depth knowledge on various things about the OCD. I have learned about the long-term effect of doing the compulsive action and the daily routines. The behaviors and routines become deeply rooted in an individual that not doing them will cause the person some level of discomfort. As explained by the characters in the video these compulsive actions do not stop at any age and can go all the way to adulthood, therefore, interfering with one’s social life.

There are certain biological, psychological and social variables that I can pay attention when handling a client diagnosed with OCD. In regards to the psychological variable, one of the variables that I would pay attention to is a client's cognitive performance specifically the client's spatial memory and functionality. The biological variable that can be important is the neurobiological compulsive variable. They are generally actions from the mind of an individual which act as an escape to the obsessions. Such may include too much body piercing. Social variables, on the other hand, include attitude, socialization and any kind of addiction brought about by the effects of the OCD.
