Myers-Briggs Personality Type Indicator is a personality report inventory to identify individual self-types preferences and strengths. The test includes about 45 questions that a person is supposed to fill for the indicator to calculate the personality type. Isabel Myers and her mother Katherine based on experimental work on personality types theory of Carl Jung. The primary reason for choosing this MBTI is that it is easy to use, especially for beginners. It is also among the most used personality test by most people, especially in the United States despite its unpopularity that is caused by a lack of scientific support.

DISC personality assessment approach is used to test behavioral styles related to relationships in the workplace, family, church, and so forth. It is used to improve communication, leadership, productivity, sales, and teamwork. However, this personality test does not measure values, aptitude, intelligence, or mental health. The disc profile thus describes human behaviors in various environments and situations how one's personality to influence others, preferred pace, and how human nature responds to rules and procedures. The disc used in this assessment was to evaluate how people react to their immediate environment and how it affects people and relationships. While it is not the most used, it helps to improve our daily life activities.

Holland’s personality assessment approach is a system applied to classify various jobs into work personality environments, interest clusters, or job categories. The proposal represents multiple work personalities, including realistic, investigative, artistic, social, enterprising, and conventional persons. Most of the life of a human is spent in the working environment. It is suitable for persons to know and understand their personalities relating to jobs available. When people understand their character, they seek jobs that suit their personality well, which helps them perform their activities better. The approach was chosen for its real-life applicability, especially in the working environment.

Trait Approach

Traits theory is a psychological approach that is focused on studying the various human personality. Therefore, psychology theorist is primarily interested in measuring traits that are later analyzed and defined in predetermined emotions, thoughts behaviors. The approach focuses on telling personality differences between people ( Shrestha , 2017) .

Gordon Allport's theory of human trait identifies that human characteristics can be classified into three broad categories. Cardinal traits are the one a person organize the whole life around. These traits are developed later in life but play a vital role as they become what a person’s name is related to. Thus a person becomes known using these traits such as narcissism, lust, greed, or kindness. Central characters are those that represent a person’s significant characteristics. Fundamental features define the condition of a human personality. These personality traits include intelligent, shy, dishonest, shy, and so forth. Finally, Allport final category was the secondary trait referring to those traits that only appear during certain circumstances ( Shrestha , 2017) .

Hens Eysenck trait theory says that there are two dominant personality traits of all people that we meet: Introvert or extrovert ( Shrestha , 2017) . Introversion refers to focusing on internal experiences while extroversion to concentrate on environmental and human factors. Thus introverts are shy, and extroverts are outspoken or sociable. Neuroticism refers to the emotional instability of a person that causes a person to become passionate about a situation. Reymond Cattell’s theory of trait identified that human personality traits could be classified into surface traits or source characteristics. Surface traits are observable behaviors that in a given circumstance. Source traits are the roots of all responses ( Buss, & Plomin, 2014)

The significant five factors theory identifies five broad categories into which personality behaviors are categorized. These factors include openness, Agreeableness, neuroticism, extraversion, conscientiousness ( Wiggins, 1996) .

DISC Assessment results

Connecting the Theory to the Assessments

The above results are from three personality tests undertaken. From the theoretical approach taken in above each of the results can be explained using the trait theory approach. From the MBIT approach that the result indicates that I am moderately an extrovert. I have a slight preference of Sensing over intuition. I have a distinct choice for sensing overthinking and a different preference of perceiving over judging. From the theoretical perspective, there is a clear indication that I am moderately sociable and neurotic meaning I am an extrovert and have emotional instability.

From a job perspective, the assessment indicates that I am more inclined to social and investigative jobs meaning that I like to help people and investigate a situation rather than accepting the standard procedure. I am least inclined towards realistic and conventional forms of assignments. Using Allport’s cardinal traits, it is clear that I am tempted towards social behaviors such as kindness, helping, care, and so forth. It is an indication that my needs are met when I help others or teach.

From the DISC assessment, my personality is I. It is an indication that I have both people-oriented and outgoing traits that indicate interactive or sociable and inspiring behaviors. I nature means that one influences their talkative, lively, and friendly characteristics.

Personal & Peer Reflection/Faith Integration

Based on the research above, there is an indication that my personality is more inclined towards being friendly, outgoing, and helping others. My faith teaches me to be close and be willing to help other people in the community. My faith shows that I should love others, treat others like I would like to be treated, care for others, help others, and be willing to share. From a theoretical perspective, my traits are outgoing, influence, and people-oriented.

I have always loved helping others, especially in learning. Mathematics and sciences have always been my strongholds. Thus in my elementary school, I vowed to interact with people who were scoring less, especially in mathematics, because it was a compulsory subject. Interacting with these people helped me talk about my experiences with math and how I find the subject interesting. From my initiative, I was able to maintain a few people in the upper classes of elementary level. Those who were performing poorly always wanted to know why I wanted to help them. My response was that my faith believes that we should all be equal.

In my view, people are supposed to share their opinions, ideas, attitudes, and talent to help others. People are more likely to respond to us if we show a friendly being. Sharing and teaching are my core principles. These help me live with others both at home and in school in a friendly way. It is the extrovert nature that enables me to relate closely to other people.

Reason Why Theoretical Approach Support the Description

From a trait perspective, we can support the three personality assessments according to the results indicated. The various personality types can be supported or explained using some essential traits. For example, interacting and sharing with people has made me an emotional individual. It means that I have become sensitive to people's situations from society. My sensitivity has led me to think about people's problems and developed the desire to want to help. Helping other people in the community help me feel much better, thus why my best working environment is where I can teach others to achieve their goals.

From a theoretical perspective, each of the traits that we, as human exhibits explains much about our personality. Some people pose the agreeableness traits meaning that they are not quarrelsome. Others represent openness, which indicate that they are extroverts or sociable. Such people feel better in the presence of other people. A person can act in different ways according to the situation or circumstance, their environments, and who they are. A combination of these traits forms the foundation of our personality. It is hard to explain a human character with just a single nature. It is the main reason that many personality assessment results can be defined by multiple traits theory like done above.

The above theories fail to explain the emergence of the many differences that exist between individual personalities. Other factors, such as faith integration into our nature, can have an impact on our behaviors. From a personal experience faith integration in real-life situations help explain a lot about who we are and why we are different from others.
