There have been attempts to make the United States schools' curricula and program adopt a global perspective for decades now. One significant challenge that has been a major stumbling block to a successful implementation of the United States program is that global education program is complex. The program requires retraining of teachers in global perspectives to introduce the topics on their teachings and the curriculum(P107). It's a complex web to maneuver for some because it adopts a global perspective of tolerance of other cultures. It was viewed as a way of failing to address domestic issues on prejudice and racism.
Miami-Dade School district has demonstrated the complexities of the global education can be overcome. The district has achieved its schools' transformation in ten years through a collaboration with Global awareness program at Florida University. The school district was divided into four areas in a feeder-pattern configuration that facilitated the global education program's implementation within the stipulated time. The design helped develop a unique administrative structure for each pattern for reforms in the curriculum. With such a configuration, teachers and instructors were able to incorporate global issues of race, diverse religious heritages into the curriculum and improve student achievement by using the local problems that both the teachers and students could identify with and at the same time accomplish a global perspective.

From a broader perspective, global education offers educational experiences that allow learners to appreciate diverse viewpoints, understand the connections they possess towards the wider world and communicate across different cultures and nations effectively and respectively. Nonetheless, one unique characteristic of global education is that it is social and digital. Global learning is social and global since it uses digital technology, including social media platforms like Pinterest, YouTube, and Twitter as fundamental tools ( Grossman, 2017 ). In education, learning is inherently social, plus in the globalization part of it, whether through collaboration or creating services and products with global application, it is logical. Thus, the application of education technology in supporting that process is one of the significant and unique characteristics. I believe global education is different from local education since it incorporates learning about world cultures and histories in all world regions. Still, local education is learning education in a remote geographical location. It means that global education incorporates learning from a comprehensive geographical area perspective.
