Education is one of the critical sectors of a nation that needs to be given utmost priority. Indeed, knowledge is the backbone of the society since it is the one that churns out graduates who have the relevant skills that are needed to transform the society. Therefore, governments and stakeholders should adopt measures that will improve the education sector and result in the improvement of quality in the education system to ensure that the best minds graduate from the institutions of learning. This paper looks at the manner in which practical changes can be brought about in the education system by adequately utilizing the appropriate data sources that have been availed at the disposal of schools.

Most institutions of learning demand that the best measures are taken into place to bring about the changes that are required in the schools. In many circumstances, schools that are seeking for improved outcomes usually have one or more people who strive to bring out the desired changes (Vincent-Lancrin, 2016). These are the people who most of the times can convince other members of staff at the institutions to accept the desired changes. However, it is sometimes unfortunate the people who champion for change at the facilities of learning usually retire or move to other schools before the changes have been affected. They at times climb the career ladder and the changes that they fought for a fade away before they have impacted significantly on these institutions.

Approaches to Teaching

The United States uses two approaches when it comes to teaching. Firstly, there is a business capital approach that is aimed at smart investors with short-term profits. It views public education as a consumer of technology, for charter schools and testing of products (Ellen B. Mandinach, 2015). Despite the fact that profits are good for investors and the overall business community, it should not form the central part of the education system. It completely distorts the entire meaning of education and changes the purpose of teachers and the teaching profession. Most businesses view teaching as a simple profession since it does not require extensive training many years of experience for someone to have the best skills (Fullan, 2013). This distorted viewpoints out that education is a profession that one can train for over short periods of time, such as during a summer vacation. Unknown to many, teaching is just a profession that should be respected like others such as medicine, engineering or architecture.

On the contrary, another view through which education is defined as the professional capital approach. Such a standpoint believes that teaching is hard. The reason for this is that the peopling harboring this belief think that some aspects of teaching such as differentiating instruction, mastering the signs of Asperger’s and learning the necessary skills to deal with adults are a problematic phenomenon (Mandinach, Parton, Gummer & Anderson & 2015). From this point of view, the school requires collaborative improvement that should be done over a period, tactical knowledge and strong practice among schools that needs one to have been wise at making judgments.

Asa result, teachers will have the ability to make a profound and long-lasting effect on the lives of students that will enable them to succeed when they graduate from school. It will be possible to achieve such results only through the professional coital policies that have been implemented over a period (Hargreaves & Fullan, 2012).

How to Effect Change in Education in Grand City

Though it seems like an insurmountable task, it is indeed possible to bring about changes in the education system in Grand city. One of the primary ways that can be used is reducing variation in effective teaching among schools regarding the network. The best way in which this can be effected is through the use of social capital. In other words, a group can be used to change another team. In this manner, teachers will have to attend to the individual needs of students after they have been identified. Teachers can do so either as individuals or as a group (Fullan, 2013). Subsequently, effectiveness can be achieved when the available human capital is efficiently integrated by hiring the best teachers on merit. Additionally, the stakeholders in education should put up schools with the appropriate resources that will facilitate the best learning for students and the best environment in which teachers can teach knowledge to students. Furthermore, it will also play a prominent role in attracting other people into the teaching profession, leading to the restoration of its former lost glory (Gladwell, 2017). Some of the nations that have benefitted immensely form improving the quality of education are Ontario, Alberta, Singapore, and Finland. Implementing such measures will the ultimate motivation of teachers as well as students (Sancho & Lancrin, 2016).

The use of students’ data has always been a contentious issue that has generated varied reactions from various quarters. From my perspective, I think that students' data should be safeguarded and kept safely so that unauthorized parties do not access it. For instance, data relating to students’ religion, family, ethnicity or any other type of information that might compromise the student's privacy (Baker & Siemens 2017).

Walden’s Mission and Vision

People should continuously strive to be agents of change in their professional fields. Change in education should be effected in a manner that will benefit all those who are beneficiaries of the system, especially students and teachers. Education and community leaders to work together in close harmony to ensure that education is improved for the betterment of students and teachers since they are the ones who are affected most by the system (Leana, 2011).

In conclusion, everyone can become an agent of change in their fields of specialization by initiating programs that will positively transform the society by satisfying the needs of those who are experiencing various challenges. They can adopt Walden University’s approach that strives to eliminate certain societal vices such as discrimination by marital status, ethnicity, religion, sex or on any other basis.
