In system development, there are stages involved, which include planning, analysis, design, and implementation. The development plan applies to several configurations taking place in the hardware and software. That is because a system can consist of hardware or software-only or a combination of the two. The IT manager will play the role of overseeing all the activities that are running as planned, and they are not behind schedule in designing the system.
Planning
The phase of the project involves the development of a project management plan and other documents for planning. The process provides the basis for the acquisition of resources that are needed to achieve the desired system. Some of the required resources include the rich interface application, the unified language modeling, and even JavaScript for coding purposes. The tasks that will take place in the stage include a feasibility study to determine the worthwhile of the project, considering it is a $25-million-dollar company. The stipulated time for planning is approximately three weeks.

Analysis
In this stage, the team involved puts into consideration the functionality needs of the project. There is a need to analyze the end-users so that the system is designed to meet their expectations. The main activity taking place in the phase is gathering the required information from the end-users. Other subtasks will entail an analysis of the structure and CASE (Computer-Aided System Engineering). The study of the project will take nearly one month.
Design
In the phase, the actual action of designing the system takes place. In the stage, the essential components such as the hardware and software, networking structures and procedures are considered. The actual designing of the system is the main activity in the stage. The primary resource needed is human labor for the designing process. The phase is expected to take three months as it is the most technical and hardest.
Implementation
Upon completion of designing the system, execution will start and will last for one month. Two main activities will take place in the phase, namely, writing of the code of the system and the actual installation of the designed system. The system will be put into production by moving the data in the old order to the new order through the direct cutover approach. Proper security protocols such as authorized login and firewall will be put in place for security and protection purposes. The hosted solution method will be used in the implementation process. The implementation strategy ensures that there is a smooth transition between the old and the new system.
