Discuss Postmodernism. Provide examples.

Postmodernism refers to the reaction in contrast to assumptions in philosophy and values of the contemporary period. According to this concept there is not a single thing that can fully be described using ostentatious philosophies which critique the way particular things happen in the current society. One example of postmodernism is the Piazza d` Italia which was modeled by Charles Moore (Sandler, 2016) . This architectural work exhibits various ancient symbols which are embedded on the design in order to exhibit some sense of modernism. The Guild house serves as another example established by Robert Venturi similar to Michael Graves` Portland building which is also perceived to be a postmodernism example (Sandler, 2016)

What aspect of the museum was exposed in the work of Hans Haacke?

A great portion of Hans Haacke`s work was focused on defining the relationship existing between corporations and museums. The aspect of the museum exposed by Hans involved one in the rhetoric (Skrebowski, 2008) . This involved the idea showcasing huge advertisement banners use to market exhibits at the entrance of museums. This is a means of modernism which most museums seemingly adopt in the current world. Examples involve two strategic banners depicting the Mobil Corporation and its existence in South African culture (Skrebowski, 2008)

What is Neo-Expressionism? Explain your answer

Neo Expressionism pertains to a distinctive style pertaining to postmodern art and sculptures that emerged in the modern world. Various 20 th century paintings managed to display the concept of neo-expressionism (Atkins, 2007) . Further still, this style of displaying art is marked by various ideal features such as distinctive bold colors. The paintings were typically used to express how man has been isolated, and general alienation of the entire modern society (Atkins, 2007) . Examples that can best illustrate neo expressionism involve the bad painting and new image painting. The former derived inspiration from aspects of pagan worship and modern scenes while the latter on the other hand, involves a kind of painting that depicts viable imagery ( Atkins, 2007)
