My favorite piece of work is the Song of Lark canvas painting by Jules Breton. It is one of the famous paintings of French realism. The painting is of a young peasant woman standing in the middle of the field. In her hand, she holds a scythe. The sun rises at the horizon and she seems to stare up at a lark singing a morning song. Her dress code shows that she is on her way to work and is walking through a withered field (Lacouture & Weisberg, 2003) . The girl depicts a deep gaze that shows how mesmerized she was. I perceive the piece of art to be inspirational and a source of hope that no matter how difficult life experiences can be there is hope to be happy and achieve our goals.

The background of the image shows a rising sun that is beautiful and makes the image luminous. The field of grass behind the girl shows potential for success. The fact that the girl is standing on a withered field shows that there are times when a person's life is not at its best quality. However, putting in the work and aiming for a better future can lead to a change from any status.

The image encourages me to focus on the small things that give hope and never give up. The girl is carrying a tool and hopefully aims to successfully achieve her goals. I love the piece of art as it motivates me to rise up every day and aim to make a change in my life. This artwork shows the power of art and reaches out to those who work so hard in life and feel like their efforts are in vain (Realism - Important paintings, n.d.). The Song of lark in the image could be any small thing that gives one hope to never give up should keep us going to achieve our dreams.
