Most of the people who seek such services are adolescents who encounter life-changing issues that they do not know how to deal with. This paper is a case analysis of a 15-year-old girl named Susana. The paper reviews the case and provides methods and strategies of solving the issues faced by the girl.
Existing problems
The first issue noticeable form the case study is a behavioral problem; the boy and the girl lacked adequate behavior ad engaged in teen hood sex, which led to the girl becoming pregnant. The second problem in the case study is family disunity; Susanna’s family is disintegrated since the father and the mother live differently. The third problem is a lack of acceptance from the boy’s family. Fourthly, Susanna is performing poorly at school and requires money to support her and the pregnancy. Fifthly, Susanna requires a place to live because she does not want to stay with her mother and her boyfriends’ family does not want to live with her.

Problem-solving strategy and its goals
The problem-solving strategy that can be used to iron out the problems includes counseling both Susanna and her mother (McClam & Woodside, 2012). The first counseling will be family counseling that involves the two women and the second counseling should be individual counseling for Susanna. The goal of family counseling should aim to reconcile Susanna with her mother and father and bring them to agree to help her go through the pregnancy as well as raise the child. It will also assist them iron out any possible existing stress factors between the three members of the dysfunctioning family and bring some level of understanding among them.
The individual counseling for Susanna aims at helping her shape her rebellious behaviors so that she can agree to go back and stay with her mother instead of moving out on her own when she has no adequate financial resources (Gilliard & James, 2012). Personal counseling will also equip her with strategies for coping with the pregnancy as well as improving in her school performances. The counseling session should shed more on her behavior, the importance of schooling, and the methods she can use to bring up the child effectively as well as o through an easy pregnancy.
Resources, service, and support
Some of the services that the client may need include counseling and behavior therapy to help her shape her behavior as well as make her see her problems from a wider perspective so that she can receive the best solutions to them (McClam & Woodside, 2012). The resources that she requires include financial support for her and her unborn child and proper housing to keep her and her child safe. A healthy living environment will also make it possible for her to improve her performance at the school since she will be able to concentrate on her studies again. The client also needs family and professional support because she is going through a confused period and needs people to support and educate her on the way to handle her issues.
Measuring goals
The client can attain the goals by agreeing to attend all the counseling and behavior therapy sessions as prescribed by the social worker. She should also follow the advice given by her mother, therapists, and the counselor so that she can be able to achieve her desired results (Gilliard & James, 2012). The professionals can measure the degree of success of the therapy and the counseling session by examining the levels of the client’s adjustment after completing the required courses.
